Gustav is almost a Category 5 hurricane! Damn. And it's headed STRAIGHT for New Orleans. I hope we don't have another Katrina type issue this time. I don't think I can emotionally handle that again. Also, this means, that I'm going to get Category 4/Category 3 strength hurricane weather where I live in Mobile. Sigh. I like hurricanes; however, it's been so hot lately, that I don't think I can handle the heat. I mean, three years ago ( thanks to Katrina ), my power was out --- and was out for almost two weeks. Gas was ridiculous. I lost like 20 pounds in two weeks, lol. It was crazy. I just hope school is closed for a week or so. I've got to get caught up. Sigh...
I hope it hits NO hard again.. maybe this time they'll realize they wasted billions of dollars and will just say fuck it this time
Man, we just went grocery shopping for hurricane food supplies and there was nothing left! I swear. It sucks. We're gonna starve, lol. Oh well, I got ten pounds I'd like to donate to Gustav.
I'm so glad I live up here, natural disaster wise we're excluded from just about anything except the occasional blizzard and nor-easterner, but 3ft of snow doesn't really cause much damage, and if you're not driving anywhere is bangin fun.
this time rescue crews have been deployed in advance. as of a couple of days ago. but in my opinion anyone who moved back to/ stayed in new orleans is retarded for living in a death trap. the whole levee system is still fucked as hell.
thats what i hope for too....they obviously shouldnt be there if theres gonna be catagory 5 hurricanes hitting your house
Yeah, we have 5 people staying with us this week from Bayou Vista La. If everything's destroyed, theyre moving to houston. When Katrina hit, we had traffic everywhere for about 3 days. I about 3 minutes from downtown houston. Both I-10 which is the Interstate that connects La. to texas and I-45 which go up to dallas were at a dead stop. looked like parking lots. There was no food, water, gas, power, half the businesses were closed. I went to work the day Rita was supposed to hit. Took me 3 and a half hours to get to and from work. There was no money from banks either. Phone lines were jammed, no net The night is was supposed to hit it was like a ghost town. Not a soul around. We rode down the Interstate at over 100 mph smoking a blunt. it was great. First cars were heard about 6 am. then the rush began. we didnt have food for 4 days. Gas for 2. theres 450,000 people from NO tomorow.
my dads a oil broker and he says that its also gonna run over most of the oil rigs in that area meaning that petrol prices will go through the roof. good luck new orleans.
Apparently there has already been a Hurricane George. http://projects.ldc.upenn.edu/TDT2000/topics/completed-research/hurricane-george.html and Jerry. http://www.hpc.ncep.noaa.gov/tropical/rain/jerry1989.html I don't think they name these things with the same name twice.
