What kind of surface do you need to put wallpaper on? I've got brick walls in my room, but they have plaster over them, and paint over that. I want to get rid of the way the plaster was put on, but my mom says it's "what they look for in these old houses" I want to have brown walls (I'd love to have a very earthy room, lots of browns and deep greens)
this is my suggestion, because i know what its like to want your room to have certain energy and not have it really be working. the best way to cover your walls and make the enviornment a bit more earthy, dark, and cozy: tapestries! dont go overboard.. try simple ones, one color. ambers, greens, and browns work really well. they sell huge ones that cover an entire wall too, so check the internet. instead of painting your walls or doing wallpaper, try painting your furniture. paint your bed frame a dark brown, or if its wood, stain it darker. put a colorful quilt on as your bedspread. put lots of plants in your room. i put mine on an iron rod plant holder that is suppose to go outside. got it from the flea market. the best tips though: dont make the mistake of buying tapestries or fabrics that are really trite.. meaning.. really cliche. simple and smart pieces are what work and grow with you and your style. plants plant plants! go for cozy and inviting over good looking if its a question because it matters more to everyone hanging in your room
Just so you know, wallpaper doesn't last a whole long time, it falls apart very soon, unfortunately. The tapestries idea is nice... otherwise just use some paint or something...
