Please define your usage of Cossack, are these indigenous peoples who just don't agree with Georgian governance, or is this meant as a slanderous term?

Please explain or justify Georgia's destruction of civilian sites which innitiated this conflict?

It seems the Georgians with their western allies were a little heavy handed also.

From what I gather from watching the News, the Russian Tank Squadrons have no orders...they just roam around. That or when you hear of "Tank movement" it actually means Tanks moving out (demilitarisation).
But you mention the CNN report: http://edition.cnn.com/2008/WORLD/europe/08/13/georgia.russia.war/index.html

The grand old Duke of Russia,
    He had fifteen thousand men.
He marched them up to the top of the hill
And he marched them down again.

    And when they were up, they were up;
And when they were down, they were down.
But when they were only halfway up,
They were neither up nor down!

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov :

"We understand that this current Georgian leadership is a special project of the United States, but one day the United States will have to choose between defending its prestige over a virtual project or real partnership which requires joint action,"

There's more to this than simply Russia being the bad guy.

Today was yesterday's tomorrow, and all over again we are falling for the same manipulation and false marketting hype. Three days ago google listing weren't skewed the way they are today. You have to dig deep to find anything implicating Georgia or the civilian casualties it inflicted with it's agression. And you can find hardly any entries for American casualties in the area or the black uniformed fighters.

Much as at one time we said Al Qaeda had a presence in the area, that's been found to be a crock as well.

I for one am tired of GW with his phony cowboy posturing and sending his pitbull bitch Condi out to make ultimatums. Where was she when the democratic country of Lebanon was having it's infrastructure bombed to shit by the Israelis...she was waiting for more information?? We seem to have all the information we need today to come down hard on Russia why is that? Because we had troops and civilian mercenaries embedded with the Georgians. I wonder how many billions Blackwater will make off of this. And which department will get billed?

No matter which department get's billed, it's the taxpayers that will have to pay.

As always. But thats part of livin' in a country where people don't stand up an' fight for their freedoms when they see them bein' violated. You want somethin' done? You want Big Brother to listen? You'll have to get out there an' make yourself heard.

I don't watch/read news anymore. There are registered 50 000 refugees already. Every school building in Tbilisi is full of people. Thanks US and Turkey for sending the human aids and also thanks many civilians who work as volunteers and have given clothes, food and other first-needed things to refugees. I hope they will be able to go back home soon.

Obviously this sort of thing is what happens when people don't learn to do things peacefully.

Why should we allow ourselves to be drawn into religious wars by Israel. Haven't we advanced past that sort of thought?

Georgia should never have tried to further politically suppress, and militarially attack South Ossetia a region who's people they hold as inferior. To me this is the biggest afront to human rights.
