Hello Brothers and sisters... I usually don't talk this much...I must be kinda nervous.... I think it's cool you can hear influences in music, I'd like to think that we're just tapping from the same source, or coming from that same place as it where. Although we're not knowingly emulating anything, or anyone. (But we sure are Spoofing allot! :d Namely the European House and Trance scene) I think you know what i mean; Getting in tune Ofcourse non of all this would have been possible without Mr. Townshend, Mr Terry Riley and Mr Tristram Carey, and if not to insulting, i'd like to dedicate these tracks to these pioneers. We might be experimenting with all this stuff, but we(i) realize it's all covered ground. (perhaps you know of 200 band who sound just like us, I wouldn't know) I hope I'm not gonna regret this in the morning, but here's a news selection that kinda flows like a concept album, what about is completely up to you, and it's one of the things I'd like to hear from you guys; "What the f*** is this all about, can anyone please tell me !?" :uhoh: :d We got our vocalist speaking in tongues and gibberish most of the time, but there's also storytelling going on, and poetry readings. We're just fooling around, having fun, making noiZes...yet We just wanna make music 24/7 Now please keep in mind, I'm no Blackmore and I'm no Steve Vai, or even any guitarist who's had two weeks worth of decent lessens;] ) but i'm not trying to be aether. (Respectfully, I don't have any pretentious feelings about my guitar playing or anything. Hats of to you guys, musicians I salute you!) I think I'll shut up now, and serve you with last weekends harvest; (You have a premier here, no-one outside the band has heard these yet, but I trust you 8) (Right click, save as... order in play list, Listen Enjoy, feedback, pass on, if you will...) 001. Tristan + Niels - I Aintwistle 2 ***Warning! These last two are at Entwistle prescribed volumes!*** All these songs where from the same night, with the exception of the 3 collaborations with The Movement, they just fitted in so well with these tracks i thought... to be safe, here's Henry Rollins on rave and modern rock music https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AyRDDOpKaLM&feature=relat ed Relaying somethings about electronic music, and he's right, it's the same way we feel, BUT in our defense everything you hear here is Live, and played and tapped on the spot, I KID YOU NOT! the only tracks that have loops are the Movement tracks, plus the drum loop on track 10. It might sound like there are all kinds of gizmo's around (this was the case in the Movement session) bat what you're listening to here is just Guitar, Bass, and keyboard, with some effect pedals, in a living room... There'll be laughs, there'll be tears There'll be boredom and excitement! There'll be happiness and there'll be sadness There;ll be hate, there'll be love There;ll be joy, there'll be disgust There'll be gasps, there's be sighs There'll be cacophony, But there will be Harmony. :d We ask you to stay along for the ride! download 'm put them in order in a playlist and ?enjoy? the ride. The really cool parts are usually buried 6 or 8 minutes deep into the jam, so if you stick around, we hope you'll find it worthwhile! And hey, Remember Lazy, The End, Won't get fooled again, Bohemian Rhapso, Telegraph Road, In-a-gadda-da-veda, Stairway? How long where those songs? (getting a bit pretentious here ;P ) We don't take ourselves too seriously though, we're just sitting in the living room with out gear up and about. making noises with what ever is at hand. It's not like we're intentionally trying to lay down a professional master piece. We're just jamming. Plus we're equal-opportunity-fucker-uppers; sometimes we have top musicians playing with someone just learning to play they're instrument. (instruments and positions are also revolved) So if you could excuse the slip ups, there's some self-realization in progress...;P We encourage this as part of the Musical Chairs play. It's about the spontaneity and about the participation, breaking through barriers and pulling each other up. We think that humor is very important in music (life), so some times we just trow in some really silly things, like showtunes, or some awful "disco dance" beat, just as kinda a middle finger (or a wink) to all the mainstream crap out there. except we do it all live and by hand! don't be fooled, those drum samples where tapped live! And if you're thinking, Pff, Hey, I can do that! good! that's exactly the point, now go out and start a band and make some music! 8) See you at the Lifehouse... (BTW, we'll be back in full Band form soon, I promise)
just out of curiosity are you hosting your music on a personal website, ie have to pay for your own bandwidth, or is it hosted elsewhere?
Well, first I'd like to at least Thank you for looking at this topic and congratulate you on finding it! I'd love to help you out mate, but that is really not my department, a friend of mine was kind enough to host a couple of our tracks... We're all about the music, and just that... so, anything anyone would like to say about that? Hope to hear from you all... Peace
haha no worries. I didn't even know that the band basement existed. I'm on dial up so it should be several... months? before I can give you a detailed analysis. no seriously though what I've heard sounds good. It's been a while since I was able to jam with anybody and when you get the right group with good chemistry amazing things can happen. kudos for putting this up and just for playing in general.
i think perhaps if someone hopped in a time machine and gave a tribe of ancient peyote-chomping natives some modern instruments and technology and left them alone for a while, this is what they would be doing with them. pretty interesting and even rather good and compelling at times. tripadelic all-around "gah-rooovy" i always dig your jamz, wish my comp would let me download them, but alas, i am forced to click them one by one to listen.
yeah I wondered about the recreation usage of music enhancing substances... and what effects are you using on this stuff? There're some pretty wild sounds and I'm fairly sure my phaser and chorus pedals can't replicate.
it's all pretty low tech actually It's a guitar over a Korg Toneworks AX100G a Bass over a Boss gt6B and a keyboard over another AX100G. did i mention those beats are not sampled or sequenced, they are actually tapped live! so how's the trip?
cool. I'm actually in the process of building my own effects now. It's really fun actually something about putting circuit boards together and all of that really appeals to me. Makes the sound feel more organic or something like I'm more a part of it. But yeah my tone in general tends to be pretty straight forward, even minimalist. guitar... amp. some wah, maybe a phaser or chorus once in a while... and my giga delay for loops and stuff. trip?
