Ok before I begin I would like to stress that this post is not coming from a paranoid perspective. To be honest, if this sort of thing is happening I am in awe because it is brilliant. Not to say it is not morally and totally wrong, but it is an amazing concept. There are a couple things that should be understood before we start. First, there is a high probability that the human race is either on the upward slope of evolution and thereby gaining somethings (skills, intellect, abilities, could be anything) or on the other hand the human race could be on the downward slope of evolution as thus losing things (skills, intellect, abilities, etc). From my perspective we are likely on the upward swing. Therefore I will discuss things as if we are actually on the upward swing of evolution. Next, it is important to understand the Laws of Exponential Returns. (google it) Based from this law one could assume that the evolutionary process is growing more and more rapidly with the evolutionary gains coming at a much greater rate and carrying greater significance. Now, you should all formulate your own conjectures about this part (if you need some ideas consider my thread titled "Musings on The Secret".) This is where you need to consider what gains the human mind has made in the past 1,000 years. I'm not necessarily talking about the things we have created but instead think about the physical process that our bodies and minds have gone through. Should we have more abilities than we really do? Does our generation have the innate ability to use telepathy and telekinesis? Its possible. Now we have established a rather problematic situation in which the human brain has developed abilities that the human does not know how to properly use. This could be devastating to governments as well as civilizations. There would have to be some process in which humans were gradually allowed to learn to use their new abilities and slowly begin to wrap our minds around the concepts that we must understand in order to harness this ability. (Are computers just a tool being use to gradually teach us how to communicate non verbally?? Watch for new technology that reads brainwaves...oh yeah foxnews did an article last week about the military testing the ability to use computers to "mind read" during interrogations.) Now we have established a motive. Why would anyone want to censor our ability to use our newly acquired evolutionary skills? Lets take the pessimistic view of the EVIL Big Brother out of the picture. Let consider that the people wishing to censor that are actually, in their view, acting benevolently in order to slowly accustom us to our abilities so we don't destroy everything while learning. The next question is "How?" How would someone secretly fight the powers of evolution? The answer is simple; you do this by teaching the pigeon not to fly. Eventually the birds wings will become completely ineffective and weak. In fact after thousands of years of non use, the pigeon may actually lose its wings. Of course here we are talking about humans. And we are talking about the human brain rather than wings. However, the same analogy applies. Prevent a human from using his/her brain and eventually it will stop working. And finally this brings me to the main point of this thread. It is possible that all the garbage that we are fed through television is ultimately geared towards our de-evolution. Meaning that every program, every movie, every cartoon is affecting us, one small minute change at a time. Notice also that the technology that <potentially> is delivering these messages to us seems to become more powerful every decade. First it was black and white with bunny ears.....then color tube TVS....then projection screen, HDTV, LCD...the medium for delivery is getting more powerful perhaps indicating that we are in further stages of this brainwashing.... Again this is not coming from a paranoid vantage, but rather I'm awestruck by the brilliance, notwithstanding that its rather evil. From the time we are children to the time we are adults we are constantly fed a steady spoon of bullshit in order to prevent any relapse of natural behavior.... What do you think??
jseeker, great synopsis on the state of our world. I agree with you. The most brilliant idea ever fed to the masses by the power elite is one that is repeated ad infinitum: the axiom "I don't believe in conspiracy theories". That one single expression alone is the greatest enabler of conspiracy on the planet in the history of the world. but really, the expression can more accurately be translated to: "I don't believe in conspiracies that involve people in high positions of power". When looked at from THAT lens, the illusion begins to fall away. But most people don't view it from that perspective. Instead they repeat verbatim: I don't believe in conspiracy theories. That phrase in itself contains a major flaw. The "theories" are everywhere. The existance of conspiracy is debatable, and subject to examination based upon availiable proof.
