There is music but people try to set fire to you and each other and kick you in the shins if you try to listen to it...

really its too mild we may have oversold its good points , but it has its moments of fun the night shifts interesting at times and so are the people working with you .

but I enjoy storms and some danger clears the blood

Sounds like pure hell to me, ahhh bliss.

You'll be being coddled in freshly mown bamboo, making hemp tipis and weaving dreadlocks from yoghurt while fresh-faced virgins feed you pomegranates and play the fiddle with their nipples, while I'll be being set on fire by beery lunatics and beaten to death with sticks and hammers...:cheers2:

he had crowds of hundreds of people try to pull down his tower they threw rocks and bottles at him, set fire to things round about him and fired arrows at him .

I spoke to him after he had been in a tower for 19 hours that was yesterday so likely hes alive , he said he learned something from it but not sure what yet

its a bastard reading clashes with shambala both such great events ,shambala was possibly my favourite relaxed festival of the year , and reading was my favourite of last year and it sounds like this year was quite interesting they had 10 car fires or explosions in our old field this year so I hear.

Im going to be really torn which one to go to next year if Im still around to go to them , the people who work both events are great, different but great .

and working reading your not there for a punch up but to stop fires and save people ,you dont start a riot just operate in something that may turn into one

I survived with only minor cuts and abrasions, got very adept at spotting people preparing to launch things at me and ducking. The 300-strong crowd chanting "bring it down" in unison and trying to pull my tower over was fun:biggrin:

Sunday night is incredible, massive crowds around huge bonfires of tents and chairs, constant explosions all over the site where people throw gas canisters into the flames. All the while I look down from my tower over a scene of complete desolation. Security evacuated their staff and the fire brigade refused to attend any fires in our campsite because of the crowd hostility. Never seen anything quite like it.
    :cheers2:

Favourite radio message of the festival:
"Yellow Zone to Purple Zone, I've just seen a group of people chasing other festival-goers around with hammers. Can you send someone? Over"

Perhaps I miss the joke, or maybe obviously I miss the joke, but in all honesty how can they allow an event that degenrates into the scenes you describe to continue ?
