Strawberry I was not talking about everyone who eats meat- I was talking about the people who go "mmm meat" "mmm cows" and shove meat in your face when they know you're a vegetarian, the people who you ask if they know where their food comes from (which should go for all food) and they say no and continue eating their burger, who are just lazy and selfish- which is not everyone who eats meat, I'm not saying that

Fuck Jesus. Don't bring him into vegetarian arguments, Jesus has nothing to do with it. Fuck Jesus, fuck him all the way to hell.
For the rest of your post, whatever, I dont care, its your health.

It's about more than just health, like compassion and respect for other creatures. Obviously not all omnivores are sick and obese. Likewise, not all vegetarians are extremely healthy. But generally speaking, vegetarians and vegans are more health conscious overall. You must realize though, that eating meat does have its risks. You can get sick from it, and it's not healthy when out of proportion. And I'm not saying that everyone does and/or will get sick from it, because that's just stupid. It does, however, propose that risk.

But like I said before, it's not all about the health. It's standing up against animal cruelty that matters.

Instead of boycotting meat and making us meat eaters come off as killers, why not protest the farm factories. Eating meat isnt bad, its corporate greed. The love of money is the root of all evil.

Because animals shouldn't have to die either way. Yes, the factories are horrible, inhumane corporations who are only in it for the money. And by not eating meat we are boycotting their products. As long as people are still buying it, they are going to keep producing it. You can't go out one day and protest against them and then go to the store and buy their products the next. It doesn't work like that. So in essence, you must boycott the meat to boycott the company.
And the farms are not the only reason most people are vegetarians. Whether they are tortured or not, which obviously the should not be, I don't believe that they should be killed. One of Peta's slogans sums it up fairly well, "Animals shouldn't have to die for your tastebuds."

Tell that to the nomadic Maasai tribe of Africa and all other native communities that do not have access to farmland. What are they supposed to do? Go to a non-existing grocery store and by unavailable processed meat-alternatives? Get real. It's called a food chain.

The Maasai are... well, they are nomadic, but mostly based around Kenya. I remember someone telling me about breaking down and all these Maasai came and just watched them change a tire and try to fix their land rover.... they just stood there in awe. I could see why from their point of view.

It's a little different when you're talking basic survival and making a simple dietary choice. There's not really a comparison there. People today (and I'm not talking nomads) have a greater accessibility to vegetarian friendly foods than ever before. It's not part of the chain when it's a choice. Everyone needs food to survive, obviously. But you do not need meat to survive if you have access to a store, or arable land.

I don't think killing an animal for food is the same as killing a human. cats eat mice, birds eat worms. the unfortunate side effect of being eaten is death.

So if I kill humans for food that makes it alright? No, of course not.
That idea is just ridiculous. Likewise, the unnecessary killing of animals is ridiculous.

you dont have to have farm land to survive...nature grows its own food for you. you just have to know what to eat.

also...maybe some tribes cant help it they need it to survive...but most americans(as well as in most other countries) do not need meat at all to survive and live a healthy life.

That video is horrible, wich is why I won't eat farmed meat, tryin vegan, but it's rough. But I also beleive that it is perfectly natural for humans to eat other animals, it's called the food cycle. Our bodies have evolved to be omnivorous, and if I knew how to properly butcher and use every part of wild animals I would be shooting and eating deer in no time.

In the grasslands of Africa?? Where there's nothing but grass?? You expect people to be healthy living on nothing but berries and bark? And what do you suggest for nomads who live in the desert? Do you really think eating animals is the biggest evil on earth? Get a life.

I agree...they live off the animals. If it wasn't for them, they would die of starvation. They really can't farm out there, willy.

One day we will all evolve from this primative practice. It is inevitable.

Sort of like how cannabalism evolved. They've banned the eating of meat at a factory here in Virginia... you can't even possess it on the property and their cafeteria serves vegetarian and vegan foods only.
