Seems like that's the case... That's the kind of tactic that makes anyone turn away from anything... "More flies with honey"... That was a class A burn.
everyone i have spoken to in my life has stopped eating meat for either ethical/health reasons. fad? hardly. your whole signature, in my own opinion, is negated through your consumption of meat. a peaceful human being is one that has compassion for ALL living beings. http://www.petatv.com/ possibly the most ignorant post yet -the laws of nature apply when living in nature, not society. sure, if you were out there living as a wild animal then the circle of life comes into play. however, living in society, 'natural' just isn't a valid argument. we can live just fine without animal products. And, the natural way to consume meat is to hunt it and eat it raw, cooking is a human invention. -history doesn't mean anything. we are constantly changing what is 'right' and 'wrong', tradition in general is bogus. history shows that slave owning is the primary form of employment for farmers; facts can change. and, i'd be more impressed with an anatomy argument than a history claim. -we are the more intelligent species, meaning we have the capacity to make ethical and reasonable choices. just because we are 'dominant' doesn't mean we should use our powers for evil. we should use our intelligence to realize that the meat industry is not justified and is harming our planet tremendously. i think the worst part of this quote is "animals ain't on the human level" humans are animals. we should coexist in peace an harmony with our other animal friends, not create a hierarchy of power in this unnatural 'food chain'.
Even if kids are just becoming vegetarian as part of a trend, it still achieves the same end. Not eating meat for any other reason saves just as many animals. What I hate are those new 'trendy' T-shirts with Save Our Planet, and Recycle prints. Those were made in sweatshops! They're totally hypocritical.
What do we do with livestock them. We just can't let cows and chickens loose into the wild. And without hunting deer populations would explode and they will eat everything in sight.
I am a proud PETA supporter. I don't really see how we could be called "terrorists"; the real terrorists are the factory farmers, trainers, lab workers, and slaughterhouse workers who put defenseless animals through hell on earth, if you ask me. As for pushing vegetarianism as a "trend", believe it or not, that might be the only way some people would ever try it.
i dont know that much about PETA but iv'e seen some rather.... grotesque ways of them dealing with there issues (pouring animal "leftovers" on fur coats) first hand. it was pretty sickening and i disagree with it. if they want to get a point across they shouldn't scream bloody murder over a couple fur coats.they should do something for the animals. to me they seem self ritous to others logical. if you have a problem with my opinion please don't call me a terrorist.
amen and there are much better ways to protest and support a cause than destroying people's property and harrasing them. Personally I don't think PETA are terrorists, i know most of them mean well. They have a good message, but the delivery of it just sucks.
no, despite what they may tell you dumping fake blood on people dosn't make you stop eating meat, infact it just makes people hate vegitarians.
I'm glad PETA exposed what does go on in slaughter houses, they put a 'glass wall' to it - they go undercover to expose such things, they inspire people to take action and it is a positive action in my belief - the organization itself.. i have no opinion.. i don't really know enough about it itself to form an opinion. peace and stillness.
Actually the money you give to get hunting and fishing licenses goes to research to make sure there are more animals for you to slaughter for fun in the future. As far as what PETA does, there are plenty of good reasons to loathe them, but they aren't the fucking local Humane Society, they exist specifically TO get attention for animal rights. Anybody who makes some sort of claim that they "don't help animals" because they don't do things like run shelters or give money to (animal exploiting) conservation groups doesn't understand that their underlying purpose has always been ADVOCACY for animals, not coming up with band-aid quick fixes for them like "Hey, let's build yet another animal shelter!"
PETA is annoying as hell. In my opinion. We watched a thing about it on TV. They asked a guy a question, "If a test could be done on a rat, and it would probably kill the rat, but in doing so, it would provide a cure for a child's cancer (they even asked the guy if it was hisOWN kid), would you be for it?" and the guy said no, because the rat's life is as valuable as the kid's. WTF???? That is insane. PETA doesn't think people ought to have pets, or livestock...all that should just be turned out into the wild. Like cattle and dogs etc are going to have a good time turned out in the wild. They don't know how to survive on their own. I love animals, and don't think they should be abused, but sorry, we have dogs as pets, and butcher cattle and hogs to eat. We don't beat our animals or abuse them, we treat them respectfully, and that is what they are there for. Just my opinion, I'm sure it's wrong. But that's what I think about PETA. Because it doesn't make any sense.
I don't know how you can call PETA terrorists, as a matter of fact they are fucking snitches. They co operate with the FBI in catching ALF/ELF warriors. Fuck em.
PETA is crazy. They claim to be a peaceful animal advocate group but they run around screaming and pouring blood on people... yep, acting like that is soo gonna get the kind of attention you want.
