    Desiderata.

    Go placidly amid the noise and the haste,
    and remember what peace there may be in silence.
    As far as possible, without surrender, be on good terms with all persons.
    Speak your truth quietly and clearly; and listen to others,
    even to the dull and ignorant;
    they too have their story.

    Avoid loud and aggressive persons; they are vexatious to the spirit.
    If you compare yourself with others, you may become vain or bitter,
    for always there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself.

    Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans.
    Keep interested in your own career, however humble;
    it is a real possession in the changing fortunes of time.
    Exercise caution in your business affairs, for the world is full of trickery.
    But let this not blind you to what virtue there is;
    many persons strive for high ideals, and everywhere life is full of heroism.

    Be yourself. Especially do not feign affection.
    Neither be cynical about love;
    for in the face of all aridity and disenchantment,
    it is as perennial as the grass.

    Take kindly the counsel of the years,
    gracefully surrendering the things of youth.
    Nurture strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune.
    But do not distress yourself with dark imaginings.
    Many fears are born of fatigue and loneliness.
    Beyond a wholesome discipline, be gentle with yourself.

    You are a child of the universe
    no less than the trees and the stars;
    you have a right to be here.
    And whether or not it is clear to you,
    no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should.

    Therefore be at peace with God,
    whatever you conceive Him to be.
    And whatever your labors and aspirations,
    in the noisy confusion of life, keep peace in your soul.

    With all its sham, drudgery and broken dreams,
    it is still a beautiful world.
    Be cheerful.
    Strive to be happy.

    Peace

    For time and the world do not stand still. Change is the law of life. And those who look only to the past or the present are certain to miss the future. - John F. Kennedy

    "There's music in the sighing of a reed;
    There's music in the gushing of a rill;
    There's music in all things, if men had ears:
    Their earth is but an echo of the spheres."

    - Lord Byron

    Everytime you smile at someone, it is an action of love, a gift to that person, a beautiful thing.

    Hatred ever kills, love never dies; such is the vast difference between the two.
    What is obtained by love is retained for all time. What is obtained by hatred proves
    a burden in reality for it increases hatred.

    Gandhi

    If we have no peace , it is because we have forgotten that we belong to each other.

    The hunger for love is harder to remove than the hunger for food...so give some love and pass it on.

    Did you ever notice: When you put
    the 2 words 'The' and 'IRS' together it
    spells 'Theirs.'

    Some people try to turn back
    their odometers. Not me, I want people to know 'why'
    I look this way. I've traveled a long way and some of
    the roads weren't paved.

    Aging: Eventually you will reach a point when you stop lying about your age and start
    bragging about it.

    Actually you usually become champion by just being ready to fight one more round than your opponent.

    Man's nature is not essentially evil. Brute nature has been known to yield
    to the influence of love. You must never despair of human nature.

    It is not the magnitude of our actions but the amount of love that is put into them that matters.

    Believe nothing, no matter where you read it, or who said it, no matter if I have said it, unless it agrees with your own reason and your own common sense.
