What kinds of games did you used to play at recess, in gym class or after school that you recall from when you were a kid?
Tetherball and soccer. I loooooved soccer. But mostly I just pretended I was a video game character with my friends, lol. We also made a "haunted house" out of the jungle gym once, but it really was pretty dumb, just people grabbing at you on the slide. lol I was also excellent at the game "Chase boys and make them cry." We used to chase the boys we had crushes on and sit on them and taunt them. Damn...we were little bitches.
Dodge ball, kick ball, tag, and hide-n-go-seek....but I always played the last two in the dark. Oh and I played football with the boys.
kindergarten through most of second grade i just pretty much fucked around on the playground most of the time. after that i was cool enough to play football, so i usually did that. indoor recess sucked because there was nothing to do but play basketball, which is a terrible terrible sport. in gym class, we pretty much played the typical stuff. we did have a form of volleyball called newcomb where you just threw and caught the ball instead of bumping it. there was an annual tournament for the entire elementary school. after school i rode the bus home for an hour then played video games or fucked around outside with my dogs because no other kids lived within 3 miles of me
My favorite thing was when they brought out the parachute. And when we had free play in PE in junior high and my friends and I would spend the whole period spinning until we fell down, lol.
i thought we were the only ones with the parachute. never really saw what it had to do with phys. ed. though... i also thought we were the only ones with newcomb... maybe we shared a gym teacher... oh, and i'm better at volleyball because i can't catch for shit
Are you from Texas? Because I think maybe it's a UIL idea or something, like "Hey, let's make our Texas students do pansy things in gym like parachute and nuke 'em."
We had a painting of the US on the pavement, so we found where Japan would be if it was to be on the pavement too. We claimed the spot and if someone walked on it we would chase them down. We were really into anime then.
we played freeze tag. everyone always left me frozen so they could laugh at me. and dumb little shit that i was, i never thought to "unfreeze" and just walk away.
-tag, hide and go seek, manhunt -kill the man with the ball -we choked each other out -we shot paper clips at each other -football, wiffleball, basketball -off the wall -sting (i think thats what we called it) - you throw a tennis ball off a wall, and try to catch it, if you miss, you have to run to the wall before someone throws the ball at you
I remember playing marbles. *stands with foot over pot* Keepsies, 2 try-sies, no black magic, flush the key down the toilet, anyone???
