some of the things from the 70's I personally experienced.

mushrooms of course - would boil 40-50 into a tea and split between 3-4 people - melt into the universe! - I realize now this was a huge dose

orange barrel/orange sunshine - wonderful The most vivid visually of all the old acid - long duration wild stuff immense pupil dilation

purple microdot kinda generic , very small - dissolve several hits in a bottle of cheap wine-put in freezer till slushy - pass around

clear window pane clear ,hard gel like very very small less than 1/8" square very heavy and mindblowing - confusing - you could get lost in your own back yard !

Red Window Pane milder - more recreational - very warm body load liked it a lot

Pyramid -gel like window pane- small size and pyramid shaped 3d -various colors red best - green was kinda strange

various cartoon blotters - my favorites -dancing testtube and gold spade

mescaline in all shapes and forms - pills , caps , flavored powders -chocolate and strawberry were popular

Late 70's we were doing a lot of unknown powder sold as pure THC suspected variant of pcp but man we had some adventures on it

long post I know and I am sure I left a lot out memory dims

would like to hear from any other old timers

    thanks

Fun Fact: Orange Sunshine, the most popular LSD during Woodstock, was not LSD! It was ALD-52.

I'll start with the birth of disco (and the death of rock & roll)...

    purple microdot, check.
    organic mescaline (clear capsules), check.
    cocaine rocks, @ $40/gram, check.
Herman's Hermits being the headliner, before the Who (Atwood stadium, Flint Michigan-it was Keith Moon's birthday and the party at the Sheraton was most memorable), check.

How could I forget Rorer 714's???
There was another methaqualone, in a capsule, can't for the life of me remember the name.

    And the Endo 122 Percodans...

vv $40/gram for pure Peruvian rock cocaine was a very decent price. It was brought in to the U of Michigan laboratory smuggled in Peruvian wine bottles.

I think it's cool that music is such an important part of the responses here. The drugs almost seem to be trivial when you think about the music that has been made by and for people who are fucked up. Often, people in these scenes aren't even interested in drugs, whether they're musicians or fans. Anyway, old school for me:
Raves in the mid-late 90's & all that came with it. There was a time when I thought that it was the new hippie revolution or something, but everyone was pretty much politically apathetic and when the sun came up, we often realized how little we had in common. Lots of my best friends are still intimately involved in electronic music in one way or another though, so that's interesting.
