So we've got 4 pots of water boiling and a fan set up to hopefully prevent any burning from steam. The wax shall come out TONIGHT! I had my sister take some really good pictures of my hair today so I can get some feedback from you guys, I'll do an after shot once the wax is out, too.

Well it was much easier to do than expected (the process) but I am going to have to do this several more times, with many more pots. I plan on doing 12 pots at least 2-4 more times. Mind you, I used wax 2-3x day for a month and then weekly and sometimes more often then weekly for a month.

So, I'm'll keep on keepin on and pray I don't have to start over. But I have already accepted that I may just have to attempt to take them down and start over :(

after having the experience of combing out dreads that contained wax, I think it would probably be easier to try and wash it out. combing out 3 months of wax buildup with a metal comb is um.. a little bit painful.

if i remember correctly it took me about a week of combing whenever i could D:

so yeh, washing is the best way if you can manage it i think :)

Thanks for your input :) A few people have recco'd I take it down and start over, but I really don't think I can do that. My hair was microbraided for short lengths and has dreaded up in some spots throughout each (would be) dread.

I'm hoping to just remove the wax and save my dreads!!

I'm sure you've seen this researching on here, but essential orange oil is a big help for dissolving wax. Best of luck :cheers2:

Yes, I haven't bought any yet. But I couldn't stand the thought of all that wax a moment longer so figured it wouldn't hurt to do something without it, yk? I plan on making SE's concoction from his icky sticky wax removal thread ;)
