I have a bad habit of playing around with my locks when I am watching tv or just relaxing... I also fail to wear anything on my head at night because I hate to be hot and cant sleep when I am. So in the am I awaken will crazy looking locklings. So I palm roll them a bit and tame them a bit. But now they seem kinda lanky and thin...any suggestions/ opinions would be awesome!' Brightest Blessings, Sundari 15 days 17 days thanks again all =)
Those look awesome, and for only 17 days too!! I got 12 dayers and they look nothing like that, mine are loose as hell! Nice work.
is that a condom in the 1 pic? lol but yea theyre lookin good just they have that spasrp checkerboard pattern from the square sectioning i hate..lol but that'll go away in time if u leave em alone and dont do all that dreadballing and crochetting and root rubbing crap and leave em alone and just keep em seperated..over timer fuzz will fiull the gaps then ther fuzzz will form new dreads as it gets long enough i wouldnt worryt bout palmrollin either they'll be fine if u do next to nuthin to em
cool !!! thanks all... Yeah I dislike the checkerboard look too. cool I hope my lovely fuzzies will take care of that. my roots are kinds long and do nothing but I know that is normal. but I guess I am being a overbearing mom. and no Eagle that is not a condom in the pic LOLOLOLOLOLOL it was method cleaning wipes ;-) sillyness
they look exactly like they're supposed to. just leave em alone and they will be fantastic in about 6 months. well, they're fantastic now, but you know what i mean, lol!
thanks Naked =) I guess its easy to get paraniod about the locklings...lol I just wanna make sure I asm doing everything great in the begining so I have great mature locks.
lol, i well remember the paranoia. but this is from one previously paranoid dreadhead to another... don't worry about it, and don't spend too much time fucking with them or they'll get all "perfect" looking. unless that's what you want of course. i spent hours twiddling with them, rounding out the ends, etc. while i was watching movies and stuff at home. and then they started looking perfect and i realized i wanted them all crazy and shit. so i ripped them apart and all kinds of other stuff, and now i do nothing to them but wash them every week, and every 2-3 weeks i do some root rubbing, and they're REALLY perfect now, all squiggly and crazy!
Yeah I don't dig the crocheted look/blunt ends look. I did when I first started them but then realized I was falling into the same vanity traps I was ridding of when I decided to get locks. So I stopped. and I love them all =)But I wanted to make sure they had a proper start. Thanks Naked =) you rock eace:
Thank you all so much for quelling my neurotic tendencies with my locklings! You all kick major ass on here =)
i know how you feel man i´went through the excact same thing. try to think of it like this. the more fuzz and other imperfections they have, the more improvement they have ahead of them. think about it say you start óut with perfect crocheted dreads, and you spend alot of time maintaqining them. shure theyll look god from day one, but youll never expirience that feeling of achivement when you get those mature dreads if you havent gone through that "my hair loks like shit stage".
Touche! you have a point. and isnt the journey the whole point? thanks for helping put this into perspective eace: Sundari
plus, if you spend lots of time maintaining them and getting them to look perfect and mature, your dreads don't have much personality. i know, i fell into that trap. fortunately i was able to rip them apart, which ended up half undreading them, and got to almost "start over"... or at least start back where i went wrong by combining them and over maintaining them. i was lucky. but the thing i realized after i ripped them apart, and they were kinda loose and not quite as mature as they had been before i ripped them back apart... i saw them mature each week as i washed them, and i'd get sad and miss the times when they were way less mature, just because it's SO fun to watch them change! they're not changing much these days, except growing (thank goodness!) and i miss that almost daily change and progress. so be patient and enjoy the journey, cause until you whack 'em off and start over again, this is the only time your dreads will be just the way they are right now!
oh i love watching them mature, develope and change too! i remember how each one was and how each one has changed and it is amazing! this is one of my favorite parts of the dreading process
