This is from a former candlehead for a solid month

These are pics prior to the boiling I did tonight. I will update with professional pics I had taken today so I can REALLY show you what my hair looks like so I can get some for real constructive criticism (my sister is a photographer).

Anyway, here are the non professional pics for now.

awwww, it's so sad you got into the waxy shit... hair that curly, it would have been mostly locked up by now, lol!

wait... didn't you say you had it braided or something first? how comes??? curly hair locks soooo nicely!

and yeah... it does look still a lot waxy.

Well these pics are BEFORE I boiled it last night :) My hair is very curly. I didn't know better and I had someone start my dreads for me. She did mico-braids, crocheting, plam rolling and LOTS of wax!!

My hair is really curly so hopefully once the wax is out they will thicken up. Someone suggested that I combine some dreads because they were so thin. I have no clue how to do that and was wondering if you thought I should. I am going to post some clearer pics of my locks later today and get your feedback.

Hey mama, lookin better than the last pics you had!! Keep up with the hot, hot, hot deep cleanse with orange oil and you will be on ya way to wax free hair! You can tell its gettin better coz you can actually see some frizz now. Keep the faith.

i cant figure it out, but i love a really thin(many stalks) dread rather than few congos. well, its a matter of preference really, what do you want yourself? thats what matters.

I like the thickness. I asked her to make them as big around as an ink pen. Some are thicker and some are thinner but most are around that gauge. I was actually really ahppy with my micro-braided, waxy, twisted, painfully slow dreading dreads until someone told me they were not dreads at all. So I found this group and I am removing the wax next week and leaving them be.

I just hate that I waited 3 years until I could afford to pay someone to do my hair only to find out that dreads should never cost more than your time, patience and commitment. But it's all good. I am gonna keep on keepin' on...

That sucks that someone took your money and totally misinformed you on its care. The person I went too was gung-ho on the peppa but not the wax. But when I ran into her on the street the other day I told her I decided not to use anything, she looked a bit dismayed. but then I took off my tam and she was even impressed. So sometimes you have to do your own research and shit. Its like doctors, they push all these legal drugs at you to"make you feel better" when they only make you sick. sorry trailed off there...

But you know what you need to do and you are right your dreads will look wicked cool =) you have the perfect hair for it =) Kudos to you for not losing your will above all else and stay the course!!!

    I am pulling for you

    Thanks Sundari.

I am beginning to wonder about the girl who did my hair. I called he 2 weeks ago to come lock up the new growth for me (which I now know I won't be having her do) but she still never even called me back! I jut wanted to tell her to NOT to use wax on anyone else's head!!
