Just a quick one. I might be going there with a friend this year, but she can't get the day off work. As a result, we'll probably be setting off around 3pm, which will put our estimated arrival time shortly before 11pm on the Friday.

I remember from the year I went that you have to give your ticket to a steward at the gate, who then gives you a wristband to enter the festival. Thing is, I don't know how long these people are at the gates. If we arrived this late, would we have problems getting in?

Probably yes, the box office people will finish at some point, I have a feeling it was 10pm a few years ago but it could be midnight, and they might change it anyway. You'll need to check with them (try their forum?) to be sure. Or just find a field and camp overnight, go in in the morning:)

Already asked on their forum :D

If we can't make it in time, would you recommend setting off early Saturday morning? I'm not sure where we'd camp if we went down late Friday...

I'm pretty sure the stewards would let you camp up somewhere just outside the entrance until the morning if you explain the situation to them, if not there are loads of big empty fields around the festival site:tongue: Saves you missing half a day...

Unfortunately I'm not as fit as I used to be, that's what getting a job behind a desk does to me. I doubt I could jump a queue nowadays, never mind a fence.

I wouldn't mind, it's my Polish friend I'm worried about.

[IMG] "So Ewa, as I've been promising all these years, I'm going to take you to a proper British festival. You're going to love this one, it's got all kinds of bands and a really friendly atmosphere and cheap beer. By the way, we meet in the gym tomorrow for the training for jumping the fence and escaping from the guard dogs."

[IMG] "You English people are fucking weird."

    Not too far off, actually.

She's the one on the right. Just needs the bow and it'd be an exact likeness.

You could turn up friday and if it's too dark to pitch you could use a bit of floorspace in my 6 man for an evening.

The festival has now sold out. Car parking passes are still on sale (all occupants must have valid weekend tickets). Tickets will be posted out towards the end of July - an exact date will be posted on the festival website and ticket buyers will be emailed in advance.

and he brought a tear again as did Bella Hardy

good memory of Frank Turner also, danced me little socks of from 11:00 - 2:00 at the little top eachh night, Eat Static and Hybrid, then till 3:00 at the Pussy Parlour. Bumped into friends each night and had fun.

Flogging Molly were fun jumping about in the rain and mud in wellies and soaked to the skin with a silly grin, twas fun.
