That this specific forum covers 2 matters of curiosity. First, I don't understand the philosophical term Occam's Razor...I mean, I have a general grasp yet I seem to be falling rather short.. Also, I've recently been drawn into the philosophy of Hinduism and I'm slightly perplexed by the concept of Maya...I seem to be kinda' scatter brained at the moment so I'm having some troubles.. Help= virtua-hugs!
Hinduism is the deepest religion, i consider myself a Buddhist but im just as much of a Hindu if not more. When i started looking into Hinduism it was too much for me, you just got to remember that the gods are metaphors for reality which fit perfectly. i looked at the gods to literally and it confused me and i was like what? Best book EVER is Vijnana Bhairava or Divine Consciousness by Jaideva Singh and a book tied with that one is by the same author called Spanda Karikas or The Divine Creative Pulsation. You can only find them on the net and amazon.com is a great place to find them. The first is 112 ways to realize god. The second is all about vibration, energy and consciousness which is all scientific sounding since they have stuff in their from long ago that science just figured out 15 years ago and then some. Can not recommend these highly enough they are priceless.
I think it means that a theory should avoid creating "entities" (people, gods, fairies, forces, etc.) wherever possible, and that the theory that involves the creation of the least number of "entities" would be the best one. There are one or two holes in that, and it tends to be applied as and when people feel like it. It's an old theory and a little rusty, and those who believe in something aren't likely to be dissuaded by it.
The idea is to come full circle. Back to the beginning. A time when there was just simplicity. A time before detail. A time before attachment. In a spiritual journey, this is the moment the individual self realizes it's divine nature and eagerly returns to it. It is no longer a begger in the material world. It is a king of all worlds. A lord. When I say there are no deities in my world, now you know what I mean. x
