I posted a similar thread in the Show Your Piece forum and now that they've identified my problem, I'd like to know how to solve it. I unknowingly bought a carb bong! I didn't even knew those existed because I've only used ones with sliders. So the slider part was fixed in with this black rubber thing. I didn't even see the carb so I figured the rubber thing was just packaging so the slider didn't fall out. I ripped it out because I figured the slider would have to go in an out easily. Then I realized it was a carb bong! So now I have a loose slider. What should I do with it? I want to make something to keep the slider in place cuz I don't have the chance to go to a headshop. Or maybe I can just close up the carb and use it as a normal slider bong?
I didn't look because I didn't even know carb bongs existed. The only bongs I've used have been super high end ones, and all the nice ones don't have carbs. I just kinda assumed all bongs were supposed to have sliders. The rubber part is totally messed up, I threw it out. I just need something to hold the thing in place. What if I just closed up the carb and used it as a normal slider though? Could that work?
does it not smoke well with the bowl just sitting in there like that? well idk ive never tried to fix anything like that maybe some type of really strong glue or a gummy type material.
don't crucify me but i prefer carb bongs. just a preference ;Þ i would use epoxy, or get a rubber ring to go around it to make a better seal, and so it wont wiggle.
^ I really think that's my best bet, Severely Stoned. Will it work fine? It slides out like a normal bong now. I can close it up nicely.
Just use the electrical tape and wrap it around the downstem until it's nice and snug, or use a rubber band, or a rubber glove cut into bits; all the same technology as the "black rubber thing" you broke. You might even find the right size O-ring at any hardware store. Beautiful bong by the way, love it.
Okay now I don't know what I should do... I was all set on just closing up the carb forever, but now people are telling me to repair it? I should make a poll. By the way, can you believe that this thing was only $27?!!?!??!
damn thats a great price. try sealing up the carb with tape just once, test it out, and see if it works well as a slide bong. if you're 100% satisfied i don't see a problem. if it doesn't work so well, then try to fix it with a rubber band or something like others have said
lol..you should have had both open. so you'd be ripping with the stem out and a carb open if it would work. idk sounds like a good way to get a good rip.
You will find that o-ring at any hardware store. It is a common piece of equipment. Quit fucking around with a half-assed bong and do it right. Or buy glass-on-glass
