well isnt that nice the mayor dips into a fund earmarked to "end homelessness in the city" to get them tickets to the zoo,movies and the museum..
at least it isnt taxpayers money,but it just reinforces what a waste it is to give money to charities such as the united way. its bad enough that when one gives to the united way only 10 cents on the dollar actually goes to help the needy,

but then the mayor of denver squanders that petty amount away to get the homeless out of sight for the convention..

HHB It’s entirely understandable and reasonable for the mayor of Denver to want to portray his city in the best possible light, and if it means removing a few eye sores (the homeless) from his city streets, well then so be it.

He has the sanitation department working full time to remove the garbage, so why not have social services out there working full time to remove the human filth

Not surprising.

China banned spitting and blowing your nose without a hankerchief in public because it wanted to have a clean image for the upcoming Olympics. There were news articles about it a year ago in the run up to the Olympics. I don't remember all the details.

When I drove to Boston during the democratic convention back in 04’ there were so many cops on the streets, any homeless would have been masked in a sea of Boston Cops, Sheriff’s Deputies, SWAT, State Police, Secret Service, Federal & State Marshalls, National Security Police, The FBI, and specially armed units of the National Guard

Why not dress up the homeless in police uniforms after a haircut. That would fool everyone about heightened security and would save money.

those monies could be better spent ,if nothing else they could have used it to restock denvers food bank.. do you know how bad food banks are struggling to feed the hungry right now in america? denvers food bank is struggling like the rest.

I never said they didnt do anything. All i was saying is theres no point to just give them food as Erzebet1961 recommended. A job would be better than that. Theres that saying, give a man a fish he eats today, teach a man to fish, he eats forever.

Of course however hypothetical, i feel for the fish.
