Was truly an amazing artist and his lyrics are just so powerful. I love every one of his songs. Im listening to three little birds and it just makes me feel so happy! I wish i was stoned and this would be great! lol
Misty mornin', don't see no sun; I know you're out there somewhere having fun. There is one mystery - yea-ea-eah - I just can't express: To give your more, to receive your less. One of my good friend said, in a reggae riddim, "Don't jump in the water, if you can't swim." The power of philosophy - yea-ea-eah - floats through my head Light like a feather, heavy as lead There's a natural mystic blowing through the air; If you listen carefully now you will hear. This could be the first trumpet; might as well be the last: Many more will have to suffer, many more will have to die. Many more will have to cry - don't ask me why. I say, things are not the way they used to be, Don't tell no lies; One and all got to face reality now. Though I've tried to find the answers to all the questions they ask. Though I know it's impossible to go living through my past; Don't keep them down.
I like alot of his more famous stuff like 3 little birds and Buffalo Soldier and songs of that nature but I really havent listened to intently to the not so well known songs. I probably will one day but I am not to bent out of shape about it right now.
I'm not trying to take anything away from Marley, he was and still is (Jah rest his soul) an amazing artists, but I really hate how it was "Bob Marley and the Wailers". Especially being as Peter Tosh wrote most of their songs and taught Marley how to play the guitar in the first place. Bunny Livingston was a damn good artist too, but you don't see either of their names in the band name. I wish it would have just remained "The Wailers", but their record label wanted the PR....All of their solo careers were great too. Unfortunately because of that, sooooo many people only know and acknowledge Marley for what so many others contributed to. So, here's to the Wailers!
