Today I was doing so farm work 'ya'll' and lol anyways the more i sweated the more it seemed to loosen my dreads they now gotta lot more loose hair. I was wondering should i avoid sweating? Does it affect the dreads? My whole head was pretty sweaty so ... hope sweat dont harm the locking process.

i'm sure you'll be fine. :D new dreads will loosen a LOT, but no worries, they'll lock up with time. how new are your babies?

hehe... thanks. his name is weebly. he's adorable. he's an outdoors feral cat that hangs out around our place, and we feed him. there's a rolled up futon on the front porch, and he likes to sleep on top of it. he's just a sweety. :D

aw, yeah, you've got babies!! they'll be fine. they'll get a lot looser, and then they'll get tighter. just make sure you wash every week or so, and don't use conditioner, and they'll be great. sometimes when you get all sweaty and stuff, you lose oils from your skin. that might be what's loosening the knots a bit. just wash after you get all super sweaty, and it should be just fine.

i was wondering about this! whenever i go out and get sweaty it really affects my hair. i know you're supposed to wash your locks whenever it feels comfortable, but what if you're making them dirty every day by being out bopping around? during the weeks when i don't exert myself i can get away with going 3-4 days between washing, but the rest of the time they get greasy or dirty really quickly and i wonder if it harms them to wash them so constantly. i use dr. bronners and i dilute it, but still...

Yeah I hear ya! What i do is i mix 28 oz of water with 10 drops of either tea tree or peppermint essential oil and I mist it on my scalp. it freshens your scalp and makes it less itchy. Plus it makes them smell fab!

this is if you're washing them frequently because of sweatiness, you mean?

man, i wish i liked tea tree oil. the smell has weird connotations for me, though. i use it in concoctions for my face and every time i smell it i get an odd feeling. need to develop some new memories. :)

That's so lovely that you've adopted the cat like that!
He looks like a tonkenese cat.. which is a breed. He doesn't look like a typical feral.. maybe he just likes you guys instead of his previous owners! Cats are a great judge of character.

Naked your hot...catz cool too i also have a feral puss cat but she's black and orange and reminds me of Halloween...I have to get me some Dr. Bronners asap...everyone swears by Tea Tree Oil so I guess I'll get the liquid kind. How much should it be diluted again?

Yeah make sure you get Tea Tree essential oil. any kind of perfume oil will harm your locks.

What I use is a bottle about this size filled with water:

    and 10-12 drops of this:

    hope this helps

when dreads REALLY start locking up, there is nothing that can loosen them. oyu can do anything with dreads that you can do with normal hair....just live your life as normal and they will lock up.
