Never actually heard any Yanni, except for those commercials that try to sell cd's and such..he was jammin on the commercial..
Yanni's always jammin ...... you should get some of his music Mystical....Yanni: Live at the Acropolis would be my suggestion for ya love trees & lsd
doesn't he play that flute thing..sorry dont know what the thing is called..and he never sings, right..
he very well cold play the fulute thing i'd think...but i know him a little better playin the piano.....hes like this relaxing mix of the dead and mozart....maybe a little more closer to mozart but his sound can really grab a complex mynd...no singing no.....lot of his music has no singing even though ive heard quite a few jams have various ladies sing these beautiful notes....like way up there, ya know?
I didnt know he played piano, cause I saw him playing this flute thing that was really neat looking and sounded pretty neat..I wanted one I'll have to give him a listen...
yep....give him an ear.....some of the pertyst music can be found, no doubt. hes like this awesome musician in all aspects so yea, im sure he actually plays like lotta instruments......flute thing, piano thing, etc, etc peace and love Mystical
I found what it sorta looks like, sorry it was bothering me that i didnt know what i was talking about it sorta looked like that, sorta
damn, i wouldnt mynd having one of them..... i think i perhaps just heard a segment of his music when it's bein played Greek Panflute...that makes sense, he's Greek...kool, kool if you ever learn to play 1 hit me up & teach me, i learn fast
hehehe..my friends dad actually made a flute like that, doesnt quite look like that but close enough I played it and it was wierd how you had to play it to make certain sounds, meh, maybe he made it wrong or different
yea, this reminds me of this dude I saw at the Farmers Market in Eugene playin this instrument he made out of wood and spoons and bells or somethin....t'was fucking gorgeous sounding instrument....sounded like a real high pitched piano ... loved it ive never played but a few little winds, more of a percussion and string guy you play any instruments ever? im just sittin here bullshittin i think now, im startin to crash.....not good....i think im headin in the woods or somethin right now take care Mystical, i'll katch u lata on _\/
that would have been neat to see that guys creation.. there's this guy that always sits on this bench downtown, and he will have this really really old looking acoustic guitar, the guy looks maybe like he's in his 70s and he is just jamming and singing, sometimes he will play harmonica, makes me want to jam with him ya know.. I play guitar, harmonica, hand drums, and my casio keyboard I got when I was 12 I am a fan of instruments, they are such a release and a wonderful enjoyment for my ears...
thats awesome....hand drums are my favorite to play, especially with others. myself and me djembe jam daily where you from? ~Sky
I am in Indiana yay me huh... Yeah, I love my hand drums...It sucks cause I live in an apartment and you cant beat on them too hard cause it will be too loud and they will nark on me cause its happened before but thats what parks are for right
live yanni is the best of the best, both acropolis and tribute cds are equally ranked at #1. full of long inprov solos by so many diff instruments. i saw him live once and hes got 2 other keyboard players and 2 drummers, and they did a fast violin solo duel where they plucking the strings, and and one guy sang a latin flavored song during an extended ending to rainmaker, and yanni sang his first song ever too, and then the drummer had a long solo where he started drumming some heavy metal beats...
ive never got to see him live...other than on the televison....but its definetly one of my priorities so hopefully before too much time goes by i will damn, i've never heard Yanni sing.....how is his voice singing? i love the violin duels he has in a lot of his music...he seems like violins are one of the dominating instruments no doubt in his jams....and hell yea, the drummers he plays with are some of the best in the world (not quite Mickey) & he gives 'em solos when they do some amazing shit....how bout the bass guitar? he's got this 1 dude i've seen play with him that can fuckin pluck the 4string.
Indiana huh? Well, don't feel too bad....i live down in the bluegrass, outside of Cincinnati amidst all these Bush signs around here. nah, it's not so bad, although im not here forever...no way. At least KY's got some chill woods and some room to grow, just the people aren't too like-minded...Cincy's got a decent sized kynd folk population though yep, that is the pain with percussion is they are loud...awesome in our way, but bad in terms of "disturbance" much love sistah
yeah, on acropolis, that bass player sounds like Flea or somethin! and if ya heard the new album, hes singing on "never too late" where it sounds more like a native american chant or somethin, it must be him on the cd, cause he had the exact same voice in concert. i really really wanna find a bootleg copy of "rainmaker" cause he extended it to WAY better, just like all of acropolis is better versions. but when you say yanni is like mozart/dead hehe i never thought of it like that, but thats pretty much right oni wanna get the acropolis dvd too for 2 or 3 more songs not on the cd. the first i ever heard yanni was on a comercial back in 2000, and he was just jammin, and it was intense... although i was all gothy death metal hed then, it quite surprised me cause it wasnt cheesy 80s synth like i assumed... it was just neat!
ill have to check him out on the new album....haven't heard that shit yet.... yeah, Yanni's just some good music....lotta people think "Yanni?...ooooo, what the fuck is that about?" just no appreciation
i knew one yanni song from an ad, but my ex wanted to see him, we ended up getting front row center seats in a 20 000 seat arena, his musicians are awesome, esp. Karen Briggs, and Pedro Eustache.
