    no idea never backcombed
but backcombing is an agressive painful process
i think it would be easy enoiugh to do the fron at lewast and get help on the back but i think it would be even more painful to have some1 else doit since they wont feel the pain and wont go easir on the hair pullin because of it

what i usualy suggest o people is to not backcomb..go the natural route a month or more before deciding if they wanna backcomb or not
others who have done this have found that while they were waiting to see if they should backcomb dreads started forming on theyre own making the painful process inesacary
    (which it is anyway)
i ha 1 freind who wanted dreads so badly when she went to the colorado gathering with me she asked everyone she saw ith dreads to help her start hers.. 3 or 4 said theyd help but never got around to it.. after just -3 weeks she says to me oh well i guess i'm not gonna get drads
and im like umm feel you head..ya alreay got em...and sh did only 3 or 4to stat but it was a strt and few more eeks went by before she left the wods and by the time she got back t civilization she had a eadfull of beautiful natural dreads....pain free

ofcourse i u go a month down the natural path anddecide that you should backcomb..no harm done.. but if u backcomb and months later wish u went natural..well then your screwed

I have my hair braided atm.. I went natural for like month and got impatience lol But in the end I decided to backcomb them so then i could choose thinner dreads and have them a bit neater

i've backcombed my hair before but then i was able to brush it out later so i don't know how well i did it. it was never SUPER painful for me so maybe me and my friend who helped were doing it wrong... the last time i did it just to get the hair a bit sectioned, so that way it would take off on its own. but it wasn't super hard for me. i did need help with the back though.

Oh yea, its painful and time consuming. I don't know how you could get your roots tight enough doing it yourself, especially on the back.

For your back dreads I would highly suggest getting a friend to help you out with the backcombing. Attempting it yourself is a very difficult process. :)

if you do it on yourself in my expirience you barely feel any pain whatsoever. however if someone else do it for you thats a different story.

yes the back is very hard and the best would be having someone else do it. however it can be done with alot of patience and mirrors. but the dreads in the back are most likely kinda point towards the face like this
