Oh, the boys are puffing out their chests, are they? I'd assume if N. Korea could abstain from nuking it's neighbors, Russia can too, and will. It all smacks of a lot of 'posturing' to me.

Their just blowing off steam like we are, like the fact of when the US and Poland announced that wasn't meant to piss off Russia.

 

I am amazed at the inept performance of US diplomats. Aren't these people and Condi Rice in particular professionals? I wouldn't poke sticks at the Russian bear, you're liable to lose your arm and stick.

The US government is not incompetent. It has some of the most brilliant minds behind it, and I am not referring to frontmen like George Bush. When something happens, you can be sure it was planned to happen, as FDR himself once said. When it appears that the government is not serving the best interests of its citizens and the people of the world, it's because the government does not work for the people. It works for the people who are in charge and calling the shots.

Condoleeza Rice isn't incompetent or inept. She simply does as she's told like the puppet she is. These people have no remorse whatsoever for their actions. To the people who believe in the version of reality sold by the media, she's incompetent. To those she's serving, she's an absolute genius. If she wasn't, she wouldn't be in the position she's in. If she ever decided that she would rather serve the interests of the people instead of people she works for, she would quickly find herself out of a job.

Cheney and the bush oil cartel were basically stealing the oil from that area for free ... the country of Georgia was a pawn in an international game of oil with the US efforts to abscond with their government with the US patsy president that they were moving to enter Georgia as a new member into NATO ... now put the shoe on the other foot (something most americans cannot seem to do) ... imagine russia coming to the western hemisphere for example and woooing Florida to become an independent nation ... building military bases and infiltrating the area with "military advisors" ... and then using it as a platform to drill for oil in our eastern Gulf of Mexico Reserves that have never been tapped before ... imagine the US response ... now maybe you are able to understand why the US is coy and smug with the answers ... yes Georgia is a pawn in the international oil resource grabbing chess game ... a deadly game where the western press labels it as a ruthless invasion as a cover for the real reason we "are there" ... now to extend the issue regarding Iran ... look on the map ... the extensive pipeline across Afghanistan has been a miserable failure ... and you will notice that the preferred route from the caspian sea (the west bank) goes directly through Tehran and Iran to the gulf ... if only we could find an excuse to take over this area it would be just what the oil companies ordered ... but one last thought ... the US military is not doing too hot ... strung very thin after years of fighting an invisible enemy in Iraq ... its war machine fatigued and worn out with HUT HUT drills and extensive over utilization in the mideast ... its fleets positioned as sitting ducks being mis-placed by a president who has NO military training whatsoever and sees the world as some kind of pinball machine ... yes the US military is in BIG trouble ... and everyone knows the USA cannot bolster any kind of response to the Georgia conflict ... the truth is coming out ... and lastly ... the US taxpayer is stretched to the max with massive economic destruction on the home turf with the nation gutted of natural resources and its farm land now some of the most depleted land in the world from over farming with "modern" agricultural practices and heading into a food shortage this fall ... it does not get any worse than this folks ... with the majority of the american public clueless as to what is happening to them ... and two presidential candidates with not enough experience to run a third rate used car dealership let alone this declining hulk of a country ..."

The United States and Russia are like two ships passing in the night.

We are slowly becoming what the other used to be. If this is true, we will collapse just like the USSR did.

We even have a missle crisis, but this time we're not the good guys.

Bah, this is all very ridiculous, everyone is complaining that russia invaded georgia, but did any of those complained when the US invaded iraque? bah, children they are, bush calls it bullying by russia, but his invasion in iraque wasn't eh? it was justice? no? bah, justice in war doesn't exist, bush has the tounge of a snake... about the rocket shield, the US claims that it is the protect their country and europe from missiles launched from the middle east, but.. you must be kind of a retard to believe that (poland, north of europe, far away from the middle east, but close to the russian border).. poland won't be the last country having US missile bunkers build at... yet again, like at the start of the cold war a huge polarisation between different super powers is going on... i wonder if the next cold war will still be a cold one.. i have my doubts..

You're right. I've no doubt all this was preplanned and promoted by the west. And all this hype about ethnic cleansing. I am not clear on the race of those in South Ossetia are they looked down on by the other Georgians?

I think we had all understand the dynamics of the area before we do something rash again.

 

I believe that there are way more strategic positions for rockets ment for interception then poland when talking about treats from the middle east..

I have to give Putin credit for standing his ground. And he's been way more conservative in his retaliation than Bush would be given the provocation.

 

Too true she's right up there with Cheney. They will both die rich. I have friends that feel because she's Secretary of State, black and a women she's prime material for a vice president....that's like reincarnating Cheney. You have to look at what she's been responsible for, and it's a lot!

I will never forget what she did to Lebanon, and I am hoping she's not pulling that off in the Caspian right now.
