flat dreads?

i decided again to backcomb my hair into sections then leave it..theve held together but are kinda flat at the roots is this normal and will they round out? they have only just been done.

 

mines r 7wks old,re baqcombed some loose ones last nite,as i washed it the nite b4.my plan is to just leave it add some alo gel every now n then.i do clockwise rubbing too,passes time when im bored lol my sections r not big cos i got very fine hair,althou everybody dnt start them off this way it was the preffered choice for me hope this help

 

I've started to wonder about this too, i have some dreads with flat roots, but the dreads themselves aren't that flat...that might be the occasional palmrolling.

I dont know exactly, but i can atleast tell you that even if the roots are kinda flat, the dreads themselves don't have to be necessarily flat cause of that. I wouldn't worry about it...everything up there that's "handmade" usually doesn't stay like that...hairs come loose, join other dreads and all that falls under the natural process will likely take care of it

 

some of mine are flat, some are round, and some are just funky weird shapes....and I love em all for what they are.

 

some of my drerads are flat some are not, some of them got rounder some of them not. Some of them are flat form here to there and the other part is round hah. Honestly i like diversity and i like them crazy like that.

what difference does it make?
1/2 the ppl that backcomb start with perfectly square rooy sections then try to force them to be prerfectly round dreads
what difference doerws it make what shape they are? spirals flat round square ziggy xzaggy each one should be unique and shsped like no other

haha i did section my hair but lol doesnt look like it ...they decided to go their own way also i want round dread because thats what appeals to me i love the look of big and small ropes its beautiful, i guess thats just what i like,also i would like to know how to maintain that look and if its hard or not or weather they just go that way ...lol but obviously though they go how they like also is itchyness normal?...i wanna rip at my scalp its annoying
