I can't understand how Canada is quite possibly the worst Olympic team, and even third-world countries that are participating are doing much better. This is ridiculous. I'm not even cheering for Canada anymore, but rather for the USA since they're our closest allies.Let me know how you feel about the Canadian team, and why do you think they're doing so horribly? Edit: I also noticed that Canada seems to be playing the past Gold Medallists for most sports, and they're getting eliminated every time. How is it that we keep getting paired up with the current olympic champions within the first 1-2 rounds?
Too bad there wasn't more financial support in Canada to send all potential athletes, my h was telling me that some skilled athletes couldnt get sponsered to go. I'm cheering for Germany.
I believe that these olympic games are rigged, I don't know why but I just have the gut feeling. China probably doesn't like how PM Harper never went because he is in disagreement with China, and now they're ruining us at the games. However, Canada only set a 2-medal goal for the olympics, how did they know they would get crushed? ALSO I hate how the swimming times keep going down for each Canadian swimmer and when they lose they're focusing on how they cut 2 seconds off the Canadian record, when the fuckin laser suit they're using has been shown to cut up to 4 seconds off of most swimmers' times. I'm not just disappointed, I'm pissed. This is ridiculous.
Since when does the medal count matter? I thought the whole point of the Olympics was to celebrate and play the games not win. But Canada does not really fund the Olympics too much, compared to the other top countries in the world, which I'm glad they don't there is definitely more important things to be spending money on. There is much more to Canada then our Olympic medal post count.
Last I checked we were not last, I mean, thats good right? Anyhow, I have a good feeling that the funding and resources we provide to our athletes does not compare, know someone who participated in the 96 games, and at that time, he was forced to use up his "vacation" days at work to participate and make it to the olympics, how is that for supporting our athletes. That and there is so much damned politics involved with the games, it gets stupid.
As long as we win gold in mens hockey at 2010, I could care less how we do at any other event. Our money and our effort go to one sport in particular.
