Not all of us have had such traumatic experiences with cops. I've talked to cops while I've been high. I've shot shit with campus policeman while sobering up. I've been going stopped by cops when I was going to smoke weed late at night - not because I was suspicious but to be warned about muggings. Nothing's happened to me, maybe I'm just lucky. Or maybe it's because I'm polite. I've never had a bad experience with a cop, I probably will some time but when I do I'll know that either: a) I was doing something illegal (weed, acid, drunk) b) it was a bad cop and I'll get over it. It's not their fault that they have to respond to 911 calls that aren't convenient for you. Grow the fuck up, your life would suck if the police didn't exist. I don't mind when people complain about bad policemen but the whole "fuck the police" attitude is so childish. I did read the OP. I responded to and quoted something that TopNotch said.
I once got caught illegally setting off fireworks in a park after it was closed as well, and I gave the cop all my real information when he asked. I'm glad I did, because he spent the next 15 minutes on his laptop checking it out, and he let me go with only a 30 day park ban "because I was so honest". I thought that was good of him, he could have slapped me with like a 500$ fine or even arrested me.
I overall agree with what you said here. it's true that life would suck if there were no cops. looting murder and rape would run rampant. i just feel that they're given too much power when it comes to things like demanding information even if a person isn't doing anything illegal.
You make some good points, but I still say fuck the police. This is my MAIN problem with police; they have no objectivity. They never take into consideration any details other than the fact that you're breaking a law. They never think about WHY you're breaking the law. People shouldn't be arrested for smoking weed and many cops know that weed isn't bad, but they still arrest us just because they are told to. They are lemmings, basically. If someone is selling a little bit of weed to support his family and feed his children, cops should take that into consideration, but they don't for the simple fact that it is against the law. Fuck a law. Another thing I hate about cops is when I see them going 25mph over the speed limit, then pull someone over for going 10mph over the speed limit. They are hypocritical as fuck and all of them should be forced to drink a pint of sulfuric acid. Well, I take that back. There are a FEW good cops, and I've encountered ONE of them, but the rest of the cops I've dealt with are pieces of shit.
in this case you have to blame the politicians who make the laws. the laws regarding weed are not flexible at all. if you posess weed your breaking the law. if your selling weed your breaking an even bigger law. if your trafficking it you deserve to rot in prison. thats how it works. so you're right, cops are pretty much mindless henchmen that do the dirty work of the politicians. they don't usually make exceptions because then they can get into trouble. you'd be surprised i bet there are plenty of cops who hate busting people for weed but still have to. fucking sucks. and i hate when cops speed. i mean of course its fine if they have the siren on and need to get somewhere quickly but i hate when police cruisers blow right past me without any sirens on while im doing the speed limit.
That's exactly my point. Cops are necessary to keep violence to a minimum, sure, but they shouldn't have the power to arrest us for ANYTHING that we are doing, so long as we aren't hurting anyone or being wreckless. It's a fact that some laws shouldn't exist. Like the saying goes......no victim, no crime, and that's how the legal system should view things, instead of throwing people in jail when they aren't hurting anyone.
Of course you're right, but cops don't seem to be able to think for themselves. Some cops feel that people shouldn't be arrested for certain things, but they still arrest us because it's the law. They have basically sold out and are following rules that they, themselves, don't necessarily think are fair. Fuck em.
yea dude. just watching cops find growrooms and cut the plants down is so painful. if i were a cop and was assigned that job i dunno if i could bring myself to do something as barbaric as destroy such a beautiful plant. though i'd probably pocket the bud
Yeah man if I was a cop, I'd only go after the rapists, thieves, and murderers, though sometimes murder is justified and sometimes theft is necessary for survival, so there would be exceptions. I wouldn't arrest anyone for drug charges though and I wouldn't give traffic tickets, unless someone was driving wrecklessly and endangering lives. That's what cops need to realize.......that they should make exceptions for some "crimes" and they should take into consideration the circumstances surrounding said crimes.
:S he's over 18. and he was the one driving. are you allowed to just be walking around after 11 in PA? a bunch of my friends tell me you're not but i think that's bullshit. but if that's what you were trying to imply to me, then i'd believe it because that'd be like the 4th person that's told me.
You're going to overlook all but three crimes and make exceptions for two of them. You have the potential to be the worst cop ever LOL
Yeah I'd be the worst cop ever, in the sense that I would allow "criminals" that are minding there own business and not hurting anyone to go free. As for the murderers.....sometimes murder is justified; even the judicial system believes that and sentences people to death. I believe that if someone is murdered for no reason, then the family and friends of the victim should be the ones who get to exact revenge on the offender. Also, if someone is raped, then the victim should have the right to stick a knife in the rapists skull, if they so choose. It seems fair. And you can't tell me you wouldn't steal something if it was the only way for your children to get food.
