You dont need to wash them everyday ;) I wouldnt keep in bands, they will get consumed by the dreads & rot inside them :(
They will get loose before tighter :)

Some of the hair will come undone. It's just the way it works. In the end, it's all going to dread. Like Alex said, it's going to get loose before it tightens. When I had my dreads, I was scared to wash my hair because at first it seemed to make it all come undone, but over time, I could tell after a wash that they were getting tighter so much so that I looked forward to washing them.

I have hair wraps currently over over all my dreadlings, should I just wash my hair through the hair wraps?

if you wrap too much your hair will stay loose and wont knot

not true at least 1/2 a dozen of mine started with wraps
    from toot past tip
when the wraps fell apart there were tight lil dreads in there but they do kinda tend to make rather thin dreads that sometimes are bit thicker towARDS RHE ROOT WHERE THE UNWRAPPED HAIR DREADED
    damn caps again

I know exactly what you mean, I'm a couple of months into the process now. My hair is seperating nicely and I would go as far as to say there are a couple of pretty permenant dreads in there.
I am concerned about drying my hair though, I try to make sure my hair is dry, can towel drying do more harm than good though, would anyone reccomend a hair dryer?

I have used a hair dryer a few times but ended up getting quite a lot of frizz so I just towel dry for a bit then air dry the rest now.
