I'm really bummed over how my dreads look after over 6 weeks...they pretty knotted in the middle well most are but some are loose from root to tip....all are loose on the tips...none are uniform and the same size some are really fat and some are really small...I really am thinking about getting them crocheted but would like you guys opinion...should i just be patient? I dont wanna start over...should i try wrapping or any other method? Soaringeagle i pester all the time on Yahoo for advice and he gives excellent advice that i been following to the T...but still my hair dont seem to be doing any good...so any suggestions anyone? Heres some pix to give ya an idea of how rough it looks.....
My dreads were worse then that at 6 weeks hehe, just give it time, even if you crochet it'll fall off after a wash or two I guess. Wash with residue free soap and you gotta wait after thats the only thing to do, and don't look at your hair too much. Nice mustache btw, dont shave it! I saw on your profile you used dreadhead hq products, stop using em and just wash man, your dreads will be fine with time.
Do what ShortyAH says BTW if you really dont like the ends, then get about 1 inch to an 1.5 inches of the tip and rub around in a clockwise circular motion on your other palm it will form a little ball, which forces the hair back inside itself Have a go with one and see what you think. Good luck Alex
Thanks sooo much...yeah gotta update my profile soon as i found this forum and started chatting with Soaringeagle i washed out that nasty wax junk now i only use their shampoo and accelarator which is basically sea salt and hot water....thanks for the advice i worry about it all tha time and constantly looking in tha mirror maybe i should get ridda all my mirrors for a couple months...haha...thanks for props BTW on tha stache yeah...at 25 yrs of age seems like i could grow a friggin go T but its been like this for like 5 months...Rogaine perhaps...hmmmm....
Hey, I live in Asia and the most common method here is the crochet method, I guess 'cause Asians have really straight hair and it's difficult to dread. I had mine done about 2 months ago, washed it after a week and then spend another week in the sea every day - and I just spent the last 2 weeks in the sea everyday - mine are looking pretty awesome and really tight after just 8 weeks with this method, I would go for the crochet and take it from there. crochetting weakens dreads and will cause em to break asain hair dreads easily with patience hell ,y sus's ex was japanese with hair to his waist if he went to ned 1 night without braiding 1st he woke up with 3 massive dreads skillz your at 6 weeks 6 weeks isnt that far along it will look medssy before it looks good its lookin kotty and formin nicelu like i told ya many times styop obseessing so much yea throw away your miror let weeks or a minth or 2 go by without even takin apeek jst keep ontopp o seperatinmg the 1's that wanna join and give em time for 6 weeks theyre lookin pretty much like they shold very few are more formed at that stage but depends on hair tupe everyone locks at theyeeoewn pace when the 6 weeks becomes 6 months thats wen you can look and see just how far youve come
SKiLLz_da_Surgeon, 6 weeks is no time at all man.. Just have patience dude, they are forming up indeed..:sifone:
Awesome wicked killer advice from all...I'm gonna stick with em and not crochet. I rolled em into balls tight to my head tonight gonna sleep that way that actually seemed to make em tighter...hope it does...Ahhh Soaring cant ya just donate ya ropes to me...i give em back soon as i get done swoonin tha honeys at school...wait nah then they'd leave me...umm n/m....if patience is a virtue...i sure wish i had massive virtues.
make sure your motives and perspectives are in the area where they should be, that affects the obsession and pretty much everything with the dread journey
