hi im lisa im 23 yr old. had my new dreads in for 6wks,i used the backcomb method,and decided to stay away from the wax as it was not washing out so decided to go natural. but having few issues lol, washing my hair last nite,went ok but gota backcomb few sections again,was guna use some pure alo vera gel,as i wana stay away fae kb n dh products,does anybody else use this?? oh and i was noticing yday,whilst looking at my dreads,some dry flakes like at the root of one or two,would some tee tree oil help that??im washing with dh shampoo at the min,but once its finished fink ill switch to dr,b as used it b4 and its nice,lathers up good too.barr that im staying positive as its only early days and each day gets better n better oh and just wanted to say this place is so nice,here in scotland u dnt see many folks wi dreads,i think it shows somefing special in everybody who has them. thanks lis x
I'm glad you chose not to use wax. When I had my dreads, I did use aloe vera gel (straight from the plant, not from the bottle, because some brands add a lot of stuff that you don't want in there...it's not just pure aloe sometimes). Maybe try Dr. Bronner's tea tree? Also, I think it's awesome that you're rockin' dreads in Scotland!
hay,yeah i seem to be hearing alot bout alo plants um can u grow them here??i dnt know anyfing bout plants lol.the gel i have is organic stuff,was only stuff in health food shop. just finished back combing,again and my hair wasnt as bad as i thout so thats a positive step guna leave it for few days till i was again thou oh and thanks lol where i stay if u dare to b individual thats a sin,but i dnt give a dam cos im me and im proud of it x
be the best you you can be and dont re-backcomb\that dammages hair badly just give em time they will take care if it all themselves wash em more then once in 7 weeeks u should wash weekly when u wash they knot flakes will happen if u dont wash enough using dh stuff will make it worse i think but bronners teatree will help sop would the deep cleanse (but wait tuill theyre tight)
i have bn washing every 2 to 3 days,since getting them in.but yeah fink im guna switch soaps tbh i prefer dr,b plus its alot cheaper than other brands.thanks for the help
