This is the only place i could think to put this so... Anyone have any ideas for a kick ass bedroom? I'm moving into the master bedroom and i'm going to have a lot more space bacause it's bigger and the closet is huge! So I'm going to have room to do some sort of seating arrangement type deal... I don't really have a big plan but what i do have planned is to keep it the awesome dark red that my mom recently painted it and to go with tan/light brown/dark brown type colors, i would get a duvet but i have a new puppy and i can easily see it getting ruined. And, i need new bedside tables so i'm going to get a set of coffee and end tables and use the end tables as nightstands and use the coffee table to put a mint plant and tea set on! so that will be like a seating area. all i'm asking is if you guys have any ideas to add, i want this room to be a really awesome place to hang out so anything you can think of that would make it a great place for me to relax and a great place for friends to hang out, i'd love it! pics... HAha, I have a mural of the yellow submarine on one wall I have alot of work yet to do on it.. Its sort of lame, thinks a man like me would grow out of stuff like that and I dont even really care for the beatles.. Its just the idea of the size of it and in the long run it will be the coolest thing I ever did to my old house and I could imagine in many years after Im gone how will see it and what will become of it?
first thing that came to my mind was take the "huge" closet and turn it into a grow room,then use the extra space in the bedroom for a chest of drawers and a armoire {sp?}.. then who cares about the rest,,you have dope growing in the closet,,what could be "sweeter" or more "kick ass" than that??
it's not mine yet, it still has all my mom's shit in there so it's not much to look at, lol. like i said...mom's stuff not mine and my bed's a double whereas her's is a queen so i'll have more room that way too.
everything seems a bit smaller in the pics... anyway, the tv will be staying up on the wall and my bed is going where my mom's is moved closer to the closet or window...i can't decide yet... and that will make a bit more room too. AND i will only have a small desk for my computer/schoolwork so forget that huge dresser with the mirror which is a lot longer that the picture shows and the dresser next to it. and the small table with the mirror because that'll be gone too. or i might paint it to match my furniture and put it next to the window with plants on it if i have the bed closer to the closet... this is why i need help...my mind swims...
Well.. I might not be the only one that says the room is tiny.. what is it, how much sqft? Get rid of that big bed, and large dressers and compress all your clothes and stuff to closet, if your going for the appt look small fridge, microwave.. tiny coffee maker for hot water so you dont need to leave room to drink coffee while studying... jsut a idea. Pull out bed.. recessed or track lighting.. super sound system.. whats your budget?
yeah it does look small.. of course the 2 bedrooms here are 16x18 and 14x16,which i know are rather large as bedrooms go..
...change the color..please for the love of god And when you say huge closet I tought you were talking about these closet that are almost as big as a regular room. lol
oh, no just way bigger than the one i have. i can easily put all of my belongings in there... which i love the idea of because it gets rid of the clutter. I am putting a slightly smaller bed but i won't move to a twin, i just cant.. and the dressers are going, and i'm not putting in dressers bacause like i said i can easily get all of my clothes and belongings in the closet. the room is 11'6"X10'9" really not huge but way bigger than my little bedroom now... and the closet makes up for a LOT in getting rid of my dresser and such. that dresser in my mom's room is 5'6" alone so it's as long as i am tall, haha and the desk going in it's place is 3"6" so it doesn't seem like much looking at it but when you think about that and my bed is a size smaller (double vs. queen) i am going to have room to work with and as much as i'd like to have a grow room in my closet it just can't be done, there's a room downstairs i could do that in... but my mother would not approve..haha she smokes up too but actually growing it would probably not be something she'd agree with. lol OH and i can't change the color, she just painted it. she'd kill me.. and that color would be hard to cover.
