Hypothetical life/death question...

My mom is already dead, so I will save my kid

 

As much as I love my mother, without a second thought, I would save my child. I feel horrible saying that, considering my mother is the one who carried me in her womb for 9 months, fed me, clothed me, loved and cared for me, but what I feel for my own children, I would do anything to make sure they were safe and sound. Anything. They are my heart and soul and life without them would cease to exist for me.

My Mom's already passed on and I have no kids. What are my options now? Do I just go home or throw myself off a cliff? Someone has to be sacrificed in this scenario...correct?

 

well my mom is though and stringie and doesn't have much meat left on her bones, plus i don't have a kid either. if there were a kid, well it would depend on the rest of the situation and locally both. i mean humanity could be dying from there already being too many of us. i mean could actually be already facing that now. so the thing is, the younger one would be the survival of the species, if it wasn't the suicide of it.

if there were something i could do to save my mom, and there was some kind of situation i could save her from, sure. more likely if i ever had to choose between saving two people they'd more then likely both be straingers.

i mean my mom now, is older then most of us ever live to be. older then i expect to, though i'd certainly LIKE to live that long.

so i think, really, whoever they were, if i had to choose between people to try and save, i guess i'd try and save which ever seemed like the best chance of being able to.

preferably without throwing away myself, if it was only one person.

i guess i'd try to save my wife before a complete strainger, but again, i think i'd need a more specific scenario to be able to say anything more definite. (haven't read the o.p. to see if there was one, yet)

ok, now i read the o.p. (non)scenario. all i can say is, if there were a life or death situation, neither my mother nor i would be in it unless there was absolutely noting either of us could do about it anyway.

my wife i'm not so sure, but if she got herself into one it would probably be someplace where i wasn't (and i would probably only hear about it after it was all over).
