I read 'The Atrocities of the Pirates' about a year ago. It's pretty short, and a fairly interesting read. It is the true account of a young Englishman who was taken captive by pirates and forced to be a part of the crew. The tale (If I recall) is basically a word-for-word written account of his testimony during the court trial and proceeded once he escaped from the pirates and was then tried on piracy charges. It's not flowery- just a guy's story about what happened to him. I liked it! I think the guy's grandson three generations later was the one to finally publish it.
