What are peyote's effects?

Im thinking of trying peyote for the first time...what are its effects compared to shrooms/acid?

mushrooms are like the madhatter to me, foreign and elf-like
LSD is like a psychotic plaground to me, like merry pranksters
mescaline is like a wise old man to me, very calm, very controlled, very wise

 

all i can say is peyote is best enjoyed in *nature*. such as camping

 

I've learned in school (During a lecture on shamanism and their use of drugs) that it, like morphine, can cause vomiting for a few hours.

 

a purge is common with many hallucinogenic plants. in many cultures this is even considered good, a cleansing. after hurl (never seen someone puke for hours.....minutes sounds right) the trip kicks in and everything is well and lovely. not sick anymore, and that relief one normal gets after puking is intensified greatly by the drug!
