Ok, sensitive deal, but my jackass ex branded me about 6 years ago and the scar is still there. It sit's in the middle of my back and is about as round as a pop can, I was wondering if any of you lovely ladies know a way of removing the scar? I can post pictures if needed, I'd rather not though.
oh, yeah, the same plastic surgeons that remove tattoos are providing the services of branding removals, too. quite a few people have been doing it deliberately for quite some time, of course, and like tattoos, regretting it. look up a reputable laser removal surgeon and they can at the very least REDUCE the appearance of it and soften the skin around it.
It's actually a cutting rather then a branding, but I still hate it. It has faded alot in the past 6 years. I was wondering about any oils or anything.
you can probably talk to a dermatologist about a silicone based scar softener. what they do is flatten the scar, soften it and make it blend in better with the surrounding tissue. some herbal stores and such have the all natural ointments and stuff, but they never worked for me. but still, a plastic surgeon can likely help that quite a bit.
i looked it up, here's a slightly helpful site: http://www.virtualbeautycare.com/menu/_body/Scarring.htm
Thanks for the help, the only reason I want to avoid the laser is that I have a tattoo right by the scar that I do like that I don't want to damage.
ahhh. my MIL got some gorgeous tattoos around some of her scars. not ON them, naturally, but you can't even tell she has scars anymore. she got very creative. she has this gorgeous bird of paradise surrounding her now invisible excision scar. that's just an option.
I have a tattoo for my future husband next to it, it's much harder to see now, but it still bothers me.
Hi. Im not sure if they sell it in canada but over here you can get this stuff called bio oil. its helps with scars and evening out skin tone. i too have a scar on my back that was done with a knife and after using this stuff everyday for a few months now it is fading a little. you do need to use the stuf everyday but its worth it and a lot cheaper that lasers.
at least it wasn't in his name like in Harold and Kumar. I was told using vitamin e helps with scar, but it takes forever. Doctors are too expensive, IMO.
think of it as a symbol of your personal strength and survival instincts. never show them fear or weakness, and be careful who you show your back to. it's a badge of honor.
I try to let it affect me as little as possible. I'll still wear a two piece when swimming, but to see it up close you have to be sleeping with me
there's a woman who takes her beautiful children to my daughter's gym who is contorted, distorted and discolored head to toe by an obviously terrible fire accident. she wears shorts and tank tops and doesn't care who looks. i figure, if she can do that with pride, i can wear shorts and tank tops with a little cellulite showing. a few scars here and there and the signs of accidents, bad decisions and inevitability are far less important to other people than they ever were to me.
What can One Do with massive Scar on Wrist? I had a Little Accident Last year...And it Looks Like I tried to kill myself... I Hate people always Enquiring with a Funny Look...
