Pretend there is a time in the far off distant future when there are no more wars to fight, no more starvation, religious leaders and their followers are at peace, the world is self sufficient enough to create renewable fuel and energy, and the world is a great place to be for then and forever more... What do we do with ourselves as a species then? Do we look into space exploration more seriously to find out unsolved questions... Create a little anarchy to liven up things... Consider bio-engineering plants and animals to prepare them for the effects of the global warming we've already created... Or is there something else you can think of that humans need to focus on?
Why need there be something to sort out if all the things you say are true. Why not carry on with daily life, why not try to answer some of the smaller questions like a cure for cancer, AIDS, Diabetes, and other disease that affect all of us directly or indirectly. More research in psychiatry, which today is kind of a bogus science. Provide free internet broadband to everyone in the world. Maintain adequate free, safe potable water to all that need it. Free available healthcare for all that need it. Less focus on sports and competitions and more emphasis on expressing our humaness through the arts. There would need to be constant vigilance to maintain the peace because there is always a certain element that thinks it can only prosper by controlling and suppressing others, or selling weapons to those that wish to do the dirty work.
Don't worry the day however decided to push in the correct sequence of code along with the big red button there will once again be peace on earth
If everything were perfect on Earth, then I guess we'd have to go colonize space. Terra form plants and explore the universe...that would keep us occupied for a while. The Earth is too boring already. I want whole galaxies of unknown, not just little pieces left to pick over.
This is probably the most famous "long answer" to that question. Report from Iron Mountain: http://www.mega.nu:8080/ampp/ironmtn.html Sorry, but I just couldn't resist
That was too long of a read for me, but I guess what I got out of it in the short of it is that society would focus more on technology and infrastructure. ...Which is probably the natural and rational thinking of an intelligent race of terrestrial beings.
We'd do whatever the brain slugs told us to do, because as far as i'm aware, that's the most realistic way humans will stop being such assholes to eachother.
Umm what you speak of is a world completely rid of the parasitic race known as humans. Literally all that would "be" if humans were not present on this earth. But, I'll answer the question in regards to your totally hypothetical situation. I'd hope that once we got our own species in order (no war, racism, hatred towards one another, basically EQUALITY) that we could start treating other species with respect. Stop eating meat, because we no longer have to in order to survive (majority of people don't have to currently), but take things step by step, so first we need to get rid of all the massive farms where animals are literally bred for death.
