I just heard it on the news here. Russia an' Georgia have come to a ceasefire. Russia's reason for halting the ceasefire. They have punished Georgia enough for their bad ideas. Soon as a link comes along I'll put it in.

    Actually not yet.

Georgian government didn't sign something like 'declaration of peace' (I don't know how it is called exactly) because it meant that Georgia loses some more territories. And so our government did edit some points and sent the declaration back to Russia.

Meanwhile, Russia occupied some cities and territories in Georgia, (that were not conflict zone like South Ossetia) and began to maraud Georgian city Gori, that has been bombed several times. Actually Gori is the only place, where Russia has bombed the territories where civilians has been lived. Other bombing targets were mostly strategic points.

And actually strange thing is happening here.. People in Gori are hiding in their cellars calling and asking for help. But the government doesn't help them and we had today the big rally in Tbilisi (Capital City) center, which was leaded by president and I just don't understand what makes him so happy??!! Thousands of people died last days and hundreds need help right now and people and government are celebrating something.. the concert with pop-stars and all this sh*t..

    hah... I don't know.. I feel so terrible :(

Yeah man.. it seems like there is a danger, that Russia will 'force down' our government.
So, the first thing our president is working for, is keeping his place, unfortunately :(

Ok so first days it seemed like we will "get back" the conflict zone called South Ossetia. And all people were in the very high mood and many people became volunteers (but didn't sent to the war). Anyway, until Russia began bombing us, people were thinking that we won the war and telling they are going to vote for this president again on the elections, lol.
Only few of them got the question like: "wait a minute... we're bombing South Ossetia all night, many villages and capital city Tskinvali is out of the earth - what about Ossetian civilians??? they're dying!!" - but people assure them that all civilians were sent to the safe place before the war began. That's unsure til now. Some sources say that it's right, some say that it's wrong and it was like genocide of Ossetians :(

Ok, so when Russia became involved in the war, and Russia's army is almost bigger than all Georgians together, people became asking for help to the USA, European countries and UN.

Then they realized that no one will help us militarily and then they got that guys from government are big a**holes and don't actually care for people - they finally want PEACE.

Damn. Well at least you're alright, I do think that this would be a very good cause for the U.S. to get militarily involved in. But I don't think they will cause we're too busy bein' stupid over in Iraq imo. Then again if all these WW3 ideas turn out to be true we're gonna see some pretty damn big fireworks on our hands

Yes I think I'm not in big danger because I live in the capital city. Last time Tbilisi (capital city) was bombed 2 nights ago, and yeah man it was really scary.. horribly loud sound, all windows were shaking noisily and all this stuff.. :)) Fortunately, now one died. Some strategic points were bombed.

I don't think it would be good if US or other country gets involved militarily and I'm happy they didn't. Now the chances to stop the military actions are better.
Yeah it would be danger then of WW3 and the first battle field would be Georgia. lol :))

Ok, so I'll go for now to bed and will come back tomorrow and tell you the news :p I was trying to watch some movie but couldn't. I remember all the time that people are dying right now or are unsafe and they feel bad and it kills me I just don't want to receive any pleasure from movies or anything else :( So I reminded this forum and have joined again and trying to write sentences in English helped me to calm down : ))
So thank you and take care!!! :)

    Bye

My question is what does your president say his reason for bombing South Osettia was?

Sorry about using Babel Fish for a translation, I'm to lazy ;)

Indeed the Security Council had met still at the night to Friday upon the request of Russia and (during the current invasion of Georgia in Südossetien) with the voices of the USA and Great Britain a Resoultion consisting of three sentences had rejected, in which “the use of force became rejected” (” to renounce the use of force”).

Already in the course of on Fridays then the military sheet turned, then the advice upon the request of Georgia met and tried an armistice on the basis of at this time existing front line. Whereupon the Russians did not let themselves in however understandably. Now NATO and European Union powers stand before a pile of shards of their war politics.

Thank you Son of Peace :)

TheMadcapSyd, yes it really exists. You meet this street when you're on the road to the Tbilisi airport.
Actually, it was very "funny" here, when Bush was visiting Tbilisi. Government managed to make the look of the houses, along those Bush was planning to be driven, fresh-dyed and good-looking - buildings' fronts in happy colors, flowers on the windows etc.. While other houses were still dirty and ugly.
And they also had organized to bring thousands of people from the regions and gave them US flags and there was a big celebrating rally on the Freedom Square. So, our government wants to become pro-USA country very much.
I don't think it's good idea by the way..

gardener, president says that Ossetian separatists haven't stopped fire in the conflict zone, when they were asked to. Therefore, Georgian armies were sent there and bombing the conflict zone was started.
