alcohol poison can kill you.. marajuana doesnt. drunks get angry and shoot things... marajuana just makes you happy. More people die from alcohol than marajuana. in fact, there have been no recorded deaths from just pot. of course, more hardcore drugs kill you, but pot has never killed anyone. alcohol has. so why is alcohol legal, and marajuana illegal?
really? ive been around a lot of drunk people and ive never once seen any of them "shoot things" your right it does make me happy, most of the time, but it have also given me bad panic attacks. weed is no better than alcohol when either are used responsibly. the only difference is weed can be abused with less negative effects than abuse of most other drugs.
Actually, my dad used to be an alcoholic and was drunk one night and accidentally shot me through a wall while I was asleep with an ak-47 when I was 10 years old. I got hit in both my legs and couldn't walk for a week or two. I still have a pretty nasty scar there. Shitty times... Thankfully I fully recovered from that, my dad quit drinking, and our relationship is better than ever. But I agree that both are just as safe when used in moderation.
"But I agree that both are just as safe when used in moderation." I dunno about that. Alcohol really is a poison and has been known to ruin many more lives than cannabis abuse. If you compared a heavy alcohol user to a heavy cannabis user, the differences in overall health would be pretty staggering. 40 years of heavy alcohol use = most likely dead 40 years of heavy cannabis use = the most that would happen is a weaker memory and possibly emphysema
I cant count all the things I shot while I was drunk. Alcohol sukks. It gets you high by deadening your sences. Its the OPPOSITE of "turnin on". And its addictive too! -Yea, Thats what we need, addictive toxins that are readily available! Alcohol dont turn you on, it tunes you out. --Smoke the Herb and drop the bottle!
This question comes up a lot. It seems to come up because people have it in their heads that laws are designed for the sole reason of protecting us.
A lot of stoners (on the internet, anyway) seem to be quite aggressive. Probably shouldn't judge by the internet though.
but what reason could they have for not leagalizing it? even if some laws are not really there to protect us, why make something illegal that really is not going to have negative affects on the community? why bother making it illegal in the first place?
because theres no way they can tax marijuana thats why, it has nothing to do with how bad it is for you.
There are plenty of ways to tax marijuana, hell the normal sales tax in most states for example, because when it comes down to it if marijuana was legal and you could walk to your local gas station or drug store and pick up some dank for a decent price, well most people would be too lazy to grow if that was the case.
yeah i'd have to agree with you there. its the same as alcohol. why take the time to brew your own, when you could stop at the local grocery store and pick it up?
if marijuana was legal they would make it alot more expensive then it is now and they would lose money because dealers will keep dealing and growers will keep growing.
I will agree more to illegalize allchool, and to legallaze marijuana,I think the people will be happy and few people will die from alchool.
Seems like you need a history lesson. Alcohol was made illegal in the 1920s. Things didn't work out to well because alcohol was so big in our culture that it was coming in more than ever. People were getting killed over it and arrested. I highly doubt that weed will ever be made legal simply because it's not causing as many problems as alcohol did. And please don't compare weed to alcohol. Both are substances that can be good or bad. I can easily compare the two from an alcoholics perspective (btw I'm not an alcoholic this is just an example): How many potheads sit around and do nothing all day How many potheads don't have a decent job with a decent income How many potheads are late for work Just because alcohol is bad in lots of ways doesn't mean you should be comparing it to weed, seeing as weed can be just as destructive but it ways that aren't as noticable.
