Synesthesia is a neurologically-based phenomenon in which stimulation of one sensory or cognitive pathway leads to automatic, involuntary experiences in a second sensory or cognitive pathway. In one common form of synesthesia, known as grapheme → color synesthesia or color-graphemic synesthesia, letters or numbers are perceived as inherently colored,[4][5] while in ordinal linguistic personification, numbers, days of the week and months of the year evoke personalities. In spatial-sequence, or number form synesthesia, numbers, months of the year, and/or days of the week elicit precise locations in space (for example, 1980 may be "farther away" than 1990), or may have a (three-dimensional) view of a year as a map (clockwise or counterclockwise). Yet another recently identified type, visual motion → sound synesthesia, involves hearing sounds in response to visual motion and flicker. While cross-sensory metaphors (e.g., "loud shirt", "bitter wind" or "prickly laugh") are sometimes described as "synesthetic", true neurological synesthesia is involuntary. Synesthesia is also sometimes reported by individuals under the influence of psychedelic drugs, after a stroke, during a temporal lobe epilepsy seizure, or as a consequence of blindness or deafness. What would happen if the people suffering from this condition took acid? any thoughts?
Weird shit. It sounds like a disorder that basically causes tripping. I have no idea what it could be like if someone with synesthesia took L, I'd like to ask someone who has.
I love tasting music. If you work with an amazonian shaman and drink ayahuasca (DMT) the shaman will sing icaros and you will literally be able to see them.
One of my best LSD experiences, peaking on about 650ug I took a sip of water and tasted the entire universe. Definetly one of the most incredible things I've ever experienced.
on a half oz of mushrooms everything i was felt i saw, everything i touched i tasted, every sense went into another.
I think i probably have this, so it should be double awesome when i trip on shrooms. I read on wikipedia that syd barrett had it and alot of other people too. Its not a disability or anything
