Hey guys, I understand that it could possibly damage your dreads, but I see pics all the time of dreads that have been crocheted(sp?) does anyone have any guides or how to's?
    Thanks

In the beginning when I had very short dreads I was given an entire head of cutoff dreads from a friend to sew into my dreads to make them longer. My hair is long now, so I took them out a while ago (but i still have them.)

anyways, her dreads were all crocheted. They looked very different from real nappy locks, which I like so much better. Her hair was very long to start with, and very curly so it was easily done on her hair.

Its also a lot of work, you cant do it all yourself.

my suggestion is to find someone who does it professionally and get ONE done. then go from there. and NO WAX!!!!!!

i assume you are white- im sorry! if you are black, crochet dreads look way cooler because the kink in your hair will get nappy on the outside, unlike white people hair that wont.

I crocheted my tips by pushing the crotchet hook through the dread wrapping some of the loose hair around and then pulling it back through the dread, then repeated this almost weaving the loose hair back through the dread. I also occasionally do this to clean up loose hair on my scalp in the same way. It will take a while, but when you get into the the swing of things you'll soon speed up. I haven't yet noticed any damage to my dreads, and have ben maintaining by crocheting for quite a while now.
    hope that helps.
