Maintaining Dreads

    ive been hearing that while maintaining your dreads u have to backcomb em once in a while wen there new..? iz dat true
    cuz therz a couple dreadz only on da back off my head that iz growing out into straight hair instead of a dread but thi$ is at the bottom of the dread where the base is i think the others ones aint cuz i still got the rubber band on dem nd there endin up growing out as dreads
    the other ones dont have rubber bands becuz dey fell of on ther own or ripped off
    should i try 2 back comb the bottom arrea nd put sum rubberbands on the root?
    my dreadz r like a month old

    anyy tips or suggestions i cant juss leave it like dat either.. ?? pllz and thank you

    Take the rubber bands out now, they're evil and will melt/ get lost inside your hair. Backcombing is a onetime thing, and its not even necessary at all. Don't continue to backcomb, your hair will knot on its own. Its normal to have some undreaded hair at the base, it will dread on its own in time. :cheers2:

    exactly what he said get the bands oiut if u still can they should have come out a month ago, if u backcomb u do it once and remove the bands within a couplke days at most
