The Late 90's Internet vs. The internet Now

I remember when i used to get on the internet and it took over 5 minutes for half of a page to load. I remember when it was actually kinda hard to find shit on the internet. Now i can find anything i could possibly want to know, see, or hear.....and i can have 5 different websites up and its running as if there is only 1 open. man, im glad im not surfing the web in 1998 again.

 

haha, I remember playing games on my grandmas old mac back in like 1999. It would take like 6 minutes to load this one tank wars games I was obsessed with.

 

Yea dude I used to play Descent on my grandma's apple. I was so little I didn't know how to play so I don't think I ever beat the 2nd level. I also remember back when IGN was free and putting more RAM in our computer improved performance tenfold.

 

I remember the day we got dial up. I think was around 8-10 and I had no idea what my mom was talking about when she was setting it up.

 

we didn't even own a puter til 1998 which i know sucked ass but all we did was play solitare and chat with friends there was nothing to do on it

 

I remember getting on AOL in '93. It sucked really bad.

 

i remember when we first got the internet. i must have been 7 cuz we got out first computer when i was 6

man that shit took forever. and i was 7 in... '98

 

haha yeah i remember when we had fucking dial up aol in the 90s.
and half the time you couldn't even log on the internet and it tied up the phone line.

does anyone remember that game on the old windows 95 or w/e where you controlled some skier and you dodged trees or something and got eaten by a monster

the good old days, when if you looked hard enough you could find a chat room with intelligent conversation in it. all chat rooms are filled with stupidity now. i used to hate the forum style you know, but HF has helped me get past that.
i think we used to have prodigy, and there was like a virtual office for the grown ups, and a virtual playroom for the kids. it was pretty cool. played a lot of solitaire, minesweeper and snake. my computer is fancy now. it moves fast, like lightning.

 

what about a zobie game for it that shit was awsome though i don't remember too much

Yea the only thing the 90's internet was good for was for chatting and getting nude photos not porn but nude photos that dail up couldn't download porn it'd take you a damn month for that lol :cheers2:

 

Shit.. first computer.. C64... then around 1996-98.. we got our first gateway computer.. skipped the dial-up because we had too many things to worry about if someone couldnt get ahold of us.. so straight to cable..

My internet usage mainly consisted of chat.. porn.. irc.. and using trojans like Sub7 and fucking with people.. or dropping virii on pedos i found.. my virii database on my computer consisted of over 1000 viruses.. my mom ran a scan one day and found them all and was like "i just scanned the computer and found over 1000 viruses... do you know what thats all about" ... i forgot to hide them that day.. oops

 

lmao i think it is. oh shit and there was another game where you were a mouse or something and had to trap a cat by pushing blocks around..and some cheese.
