Health food shops

    Once upon a time health food shops sold margarine and we were told it was healthy!

    Yeah, and they used to say alfafa spouts were good for you. Now they say it's bad because there's a chance of salmonela (sp?). And if you eat too much, you can get liver damage. (Oh really? Like how much is too much? Like a gallon bushel!) Silly.

    Also was told pickles are bad for you because the vinegar kills the good bacteria in the colon. Wrong!

    I remember when health food shops started, the people working there always looked anaemic and sickly.

    We still have authentic hippy run shops where I live.

    I remember when health food shops were run by hippies. I just found out that mine is run by Mormons who donated a lot of money to a campaign to make gay marriage illegal. Not a very hippie thing to do IMO. Sucks because now I can't shop there and it's like 20 miles to the next nearest one.
