Starting now, I think all Canadian topics that are my threads in the Canada forum should be stickies. Yes or no?
walleye are the cat's ass... we call them pickeral... I'm sure you have them in Ontario Just use a pickeral rig baited with minnows or worms (a pickeral rig is 2 hooks on a fishing contraption) or some sort of jig or lure they are the BEST I caught a potential master angler but the H "accidentally" let him go *grrrr*
There are a few watersheds along the oak ridges moraine that run into lake ontario that get anual runs, namely the bomwnaville creek, wilmont creek and the ganaraska river. The're pacific chinook salmon that were introduced well over 50 years ago. We've developed some healthy wild or native populations that migrite up river in the fall to spawn and die. We get a good wild rainbow trout run in the spring too. I think the credit and natawassaga rivers get a salmon run in the fall aswell but that runs into georgian bay and lake huron, don't know that area as well.
You forgot the "all of the above" option Ive seen salmon in Ontario..they come into the rivers and creeks on Manitoulin Island to spawn...
