there are a lot of documentaries, like "revolution" (1968) , "the hippie temptation" "hippies forever" focused on Ibiza communities, "last hippie standing" which centers on Goa and the trance scene but also on the hippie population in the sixties and seventies, all present on the edonkey networkalso look for Skip's book "hippies from A to Z" who is online here (http://www.hipplanet.com/books/atoz/atoz.htm) . then you may relax watching barbet schroeder "more" movie with the original soundtrack by the Pink Floyd which is set in the hippie scene of Paris and Ibiza. look on ebay. someone is selling an aged copy of "LIfe" magazine about hippie communes . look, maybe you'll find a copy for free. dont know about commercial sporting stereotypical hippies as testimonials , dont know if all this helps ... good luck
tommy chong look him up.. famous for his movies.. also does alot of other good things if you look in the right places
The History Channel has had some wonderufl documentaries , one of which is called " Hippies"...you might be able to find it somewhere
Here's something you might be interested in... It's an interview with the author of a book entitled "What the dormouse said: how the '60s counter culture shaped the personal computer industry. http://www.acm.org/ubiquity/interviews/v6i29_markoff.html here's an excerpt... UBIQUITY: What happened to the counterculture spirit shared by some of those who contributed to the personal computer revolution. Do you think it lives on pretty much unchanged? People aren't still taking LSD, are they? MARKOFF: I think that the period of the 60s was an unusual period in this country, and what is striking to me is how much today's politics are still defined in opposition to or sympathy with the 60s. When I was on book tour and signing books a new employee walked up who had just joined Microsoft and told me he'd been a public affairs person for the Bush Administration, and that he was very pleased to get my book because it chronicled the ideas the shaped the President's thinking — obviously in opposition. And most of the key figures in the administration — Bolton, Cheney, Bush — were all shaped in reaction to things that happened during the '60s. So in that sense the 60s have continued to have a huge impact on the world.
this stuff is gold unfortunately i dont have the history channel/foxtel for that matter cheech and chong would be an awesome for a source!
I did the same thing!! We had to do a thing in history like two years ago on the 60's... And focus on 3 things. I did fashion, Beatlemania, and HIPPIES! It's what got me interested in it. It's beautiful
