yesterday i was listening to janis joplin and cat stevens while i was working and i had 4 people i work with come up to and ask who i was listening to, when i told them, they said they had never heard of either of them before and didnt even know wild world or piece of my heart. i thought i was i the twilight zone or something. i cant believe there are people in the world who dont know who they are. its a scary thought
janis joplin rules, we studied her in History class when I was doing my GCSE's back at secondry school! Dunno about cat stevens ... I gotta ask Mike or Sedge about her
Whoa, back up there what's GCSE and secondry school...and what school are you in that you learn about janis in history
Secondary School is the UK version of High School i guess - for ages between say 12 and 18. GCSE stands for General Certification for Secondary Education, the English equivelant of the SAT tests. But with seperate marks for each subject rather than just an overall mark. And then its all different again in Scotland!
people may have their opinions on the value of stevens and joplin, but come on....surely everyones heard of them! ...though I guess not... interesting its like the other night at a party, at a theatre restaurant, i go to these two girls "you know who that guys reminds me of, gene simmons from Kiss" now I have hardly listened to kiss at all, only been greatly amused by their shoes, but I know who they are...anyway these girls were like "who? pffft. what is she talkin about?"...i dunno i guess everyone knew kiss, its not like they blend into the background!
