what you are saying is generally accurate, but there is a northern/southern divide where the character and general mentality differ. most of the negative stereotypes seem to apply to northern Jersey, which is where I lived. southern Jersey strikes me as more PA than anything.

 

to be honest I haven't looked, I haven't spent a full night there yet. right now I'm house sitting for a friend of the family sort of on the outskirts and won't be moving there until next month.
I hope so. be able to see the stars, that is.

 

here you can get beer at pretty much every gas station, convenience store, grocery store, and yes, 711. everyone but the bars stops selling at 1 though, so finding booze after the bars close is still an obstacle

partially because I have a lot of family here and I got invited to stay at and watch over this guy's house, where I'll be for a few more weeks. the main reason was that things were getting strange back east and I felt like going somewhere new.
I'm still thinking of moving up to Portland or Washington, or maybe Colarado at some point.
