Some people wonder why feminism is starting to get a bad name... http://money.cnn.com/2004/10/06/news/funny/tax_men.reut/
Kind of silly. Most men do not perpertrate violence against womyn. All men shouldn''t be punished for what a few do. How about a tax on offenders only?
It's not that most men don't "perpetrate violence against women," rather the fact that a number of studies have shown that women are equally abusive. This is just another feminist double standard. This Gudrun woman's mental state is very clear from the fact that she likened Sweden to Afghanistan under the Taliban. She has absolutely no grasp of reality. And she can't seriously believe that making such statements makes men more willing to treat women equitably.
Seriously, though, Sweden is one of the most liberal countries out there, and the women have perhaps the highest standard of living that any women have had since the dawn of time. What this Gudrun woman is saying is pure bunk. Certainly there are inequalities--this would be the case if we were living in a matriarchal society as well. (If you've ever been a man in a female dominated workplace, you know what I mean.) But it's not Afghanistan at all. The problem is not always systemic, and I think that women have to take part of the blame for not taking the initiative. Of course, since Gudrun is such an ideologue, she's incapable of making such a truthful admission. Just a taste of what it'll be like in a feminist dominated society.
