Today I have just found myself being addicted to internet, especially eBay.com ... still can't get enough of all those beautiful retro dresses or cheap converse all star shoes... some things, which cost 100 dollars in the Czech republic, you can find there not more expensive than twenty bucks. What the hell.. It's all because of that incredibly expensive shipping, which causes that ordering some stuff from eBay is almost as expensive as buying it here, cause shipping price is often higher than price of that goods. Sorry, it just pisses me off. Converse shoes - 25 bucks.. aw
That's exactly why you shouldn't want to live here.....WAY to much consumerism. That's all most people here care about is material bullshit, which results in the more meaningful things in life taking an undeserved backseat. Life is worth much more than gold (and that goes for just about everything that is bought with it).
Well.. in that case I would like to live there just for a while... I was a bit just kidding, but really: I always thought the USA would be more expensive than Middle Europe but as I see.. contrary is the case..
Don't worry, this czech ebay ain't somehow great.. but I've found some pretty great stuff in there, actually... aaaaaaaaw, I'm addicted. I confess.
Aye, but you seem to take your local businesses for granted. I live in a pretty chill city in the states and there's lots of local business here, but for the most part they can't survive for too long in most cities (due to the corporations forcing them out of business ie. the cheap prices you talk about). Viva la pequeno comercio!
Its really weird Jana, I once dated a girl who looks like she could have been your sister...she was from the west coast of America but always told me she was of Czech decent....she must have been right
and I have always said I would have loved to live on the west coast of America. Even though I know my ideas are a bit naive due to movies and such..
well it's probably everywhere the same. starting your own local successful business is mostly impossible. Unless you are the lucky one.
True, unless you use your business as a front for an entirely different kind of business. (I know someone that's done that and had a lot of financial success because of it.)
I guess it's also about your personality.. and speaking for myself - I wouldn't be any good at business.
Well I just dont know !!!! Prague's on my 'places to visit' list. Not that I actually have a list... :leaving:
You two are lucky to live in Europe....at least luckier than I am I suppose. I'd trade a lot to have had the opportunity to have actually been raised there. I'd like to return there one day, but I've already been and have far to many other places to go before that.
