The question of the tinny

Occasionally my friend down the hall asks if I want to smoke with him, but this time all he had with him was a small tinny. For those who don't know what this is, a tinny is a sheet of aluminum foil rolled to form a pipe. I've used them in the past but I heard that they were bad for you and should only be used in a pinch. It seems to me though that if you have to smoke out of one of these to get high it would never really be worth it, especially since joint papers and the like are so easy to get. Should these be avoided at all costs or are they not as bad for you as people say? I hear that it encourages Alzheimer's disease and I'd imagine it's not too good for your lungs either.

 

Once in a while, yeah it's fine...like you said, it's good in a pinch. But why use those if you can so easilly get rolling papers?

Personally, I make my own pipes out of clay, I have many cuz they're fun to make, all you need is some self hardening clay (should be easy to get at an art store), time, and creativity. Well, maybe some sand paper and paint too, cuz they gotta look good

 

its not been proven so, its jsut highly speculated. who cares tho, is that the only piece in the whole dorm?/apartment?

 

I've heard its bad for you to smoke off foil but I'm not sure. Although smoking any substance off any material is harmful. You could always buy a nice, decorative pipe or bong and take that to his room and just use that. If he's your friend he'll understand.

 

I actually doubt that it is harmful to smoke using tin foil, as there are many people I know who use foil with needle-sized holes as makeshift screens when they don't have any more left.

Although, aluminum foil and tin foil ARE different, so, I don't quite know if one is good and the other is bad, or what ...

 

I did it a million times, but since they declared it unhealthful i won't do it anymore.

 

aluminium foil and tinfoil are the same are they not? tin would heat up way to quick if you had sheet of that in your bowl... i remember in science we had slivers of foil and they went red hot and jsut broke apart when over the flame...

 

Aluminum foil is made of aluminum and tin foil is made of tin. Not the same.

 

aluminium foil is bad for u to use while tin foil isnt bad but i would still use sumthing else.

 

In the U.S., Aluminum foil, and Tin foil are the exact same substance.
I'm a retired Plumber. There are toxic chemicals in it. Yes. But, you would have to use a Tinney every day as a regular peice, for it to hurt you. Much the same, as whene Leadded Paint was still sold. (I was about 12 when it was outlawed.)
