Quite possibly due to the antibiotics I'm on for lyme disease, I've has a little bit of a problem with vaginal dryness lately. I'm considering my choice of lube. I know there are organic lubes out there, but I'm not aware of their ingredients. I used to sell for Passion Parties until the artificial fragrancing of the products became unbearable - I am chemically sensitive and have to exercise caution and awareness using any product whatsoever. Artificial lubes contain propylene glycol - just what is that, anyway? Is it safe? What are the risks of using such a product, if any? What information is available about propylene glycol, or the safety of other artificial and/or organic lubes, especially for the chemically-sensitive? Are there flavored lubes out there that do not contain aspartame, or artificial colors and flavors? What about other companies, similar to Passion Parties, that carry more natural products? (I quit after being bowled over by the chemical off-gassing smell opening a box of vinyl vibrators for the nth time - not exactly an experience that made me eager to thrust one up my twat!) How safe are commercial sexual products? What information is available? That's a mucus membrane down there, I want to be careful what I put on it. What's the deal with silicone? I recall Passion Parties wouldn't sell silicone lubes. How dangerous are they really? I'm not interested in reading responses of "ew, unnatural not hippy! if ur dry ur just not hot enuff!!1!" so if that's all you have to contribute, please save your limited typing skills for the hot & horny or erotica forums. But if you have some real information to share, I'd like to read it. Thanks.
i posted a similar question...Im not on any medications tho and Im only 20...apparently no one has anything to say
Propylene Glycol A cosmetic form of mineral oil found in automatic brake and hydraulic fluid and industrial antifreeze. In the skin and hair, propylene glycol works as a humescent, which causes retention of moisture content of skin or cosmetic products by preventing the escape of moisture or water. The Material Safety Data Sheet warns users to avoid skin contact with propylene glycol as this strong skin irritant can cause liver abnormalities and kidney damage. (got all that from this website http://www.natural-health-information-centre.com/propylene-glycol.html) Hope this will help. Also another thing I have problems with is Soduim Lauryl Sulfate and here's an artical on that if you're interested http://www.healthy-communications.com/slsmostdangerousirritant.html
I would suggest "H2Jo" from System Jo... I use it because condoms tend to cause me to not be very wet so it hurts. It has practically no scent, because it's water-based it has little glycerol (yay for no yeast infection!) and once, my fiance forgot he used some on me and went down on me, but he said it had little taste. I don't know if you'd really want to eat it though lol http://www.systemjo.com/index.php?p...facturer_id=0&option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=26
we use Pjur http://www.pjur.com/ I do recommend it for a lube, many types for any need... We do avoid mouth to lube contact... well...we try.
